These factors affect the number and health of fry/babies::
1) On it's size. If the fish is small, it may have around 12-30 fry. If it's huge/big, it may have 30-50 or more fry.
2) Keep the temperature around 29-30C or 80-82F for the fish to feel more comfortable and have more babies.
3) Add some salt, again, not table salt BUT aquarium salt. 1tbs per 5 gallons is fine. Mollies and platies like mild salty water.
With all these going fine, your fish is to give a lot of fry soon. Good Luck! :)

It will give birth to more than you can count. 20+. How many will survive? Not many unless they are born in a breeding trap and the mother is removed after giving birth. After a week or two, they will be ready to go into the tank, so long as there's plants to hide in and they aren't too small to get sucked into the filter. The plants can be real or fake.
If you want it to be that way, at least half will survive.

On average, probably 10-20. At least this has been my experience.
