It depends on what type of eel, the common eel can live to be 85 years old, though I think some have lived a little longer.

Surely tanks weren't around 200 years ago. My great grandad had one of the first tanks on the Somme in 1917.

I read a story about one that just died in a well at 155 years old and there's another one in the same well that's 110, so...at least 155 years.

there are many different types of eel, freshwater, brackish, saltwater, and they all have different lifespans.
