Small 2" plecostomus was recently introduced into established 30 gal tank that was fairly lush with algae, pleco did it's job and glass is clean. Now it trails a string of feces almost as long as itself, how long will it get?? I've had other plecos that would eat lettuce but this one doesn't seem interested.

That's typical of plecos. I think if you give a pleco one cup of food it will make 2 cups of poo LOL. Nothing to worry about

Plecos are poop machines. All they eat are algae, plants, and wood. All of which are high in fiber. Expect more poop as he gets bigger. I think they put more poop in the tank than garbage they clean up.
