I noticed that my guppies have white spots on their body and fins I hope its not a disease. I am wondering if it is part of their pattern or colour. It looks like the white spots on the body are external (growing outside their body).

I bought some Hakari first bites but those apparently have been misplaced. I have taken a ziplock and crushed tropical flakes to a power and wet a toothpick and dipped in crushed flakes and put in watter above fry as i read on one site but none of them are making an effort to eat. is there anything else i can do? I have freeze dried bloodworms, shrimp pellets, and algae sheets in the house also.

First time fish momma here looks to be one ful blk and several dalmations like momma and a few that are a light beige now so i don't know what they will be later.

I've been thinking of switching my catfish from a 10-gallon to a 20+ gallon aquarium. I have an old 20-gallon, but there's a slight crack on one of the sides. I tested how much the crack leaked by taping red paper onto it and then filling the tank with water, and it eventually stained the paper a little. Is there a cheap way to fix the crack and use the aquarium, or is it better to go for broke and spend the $60+ to buy a new tank and hood?

I just got a Rosy Barb and a Black Ruby Barb... The Black Ruby Barb is just hanging out at the bottom, and this morning it didn't go up to get food. My Rosy Barb is crazy! It's swimming back and forth like a madman. I just wanted to know what's up with the fish. Thanks

We have an oranda with an over grown head and while it eats and is in a tank where it doesn't ge picked on much, all it does is hang out in the corner of the tank and when it occassionally ventures out it bumps into EVERYTHING! It obviously can't see. It's fins are getting tattered and I don't know what to do with it! It's about four - five inches long.

I am thinking about getting a toilet aquarium, and wondered if anyone here has seen one in PERSON, I saw it on tv, and online, I just wanted to know if they looked good in person, or had a cheap plasticy look to them!
Thanks, would rather not spend the 300.00 plus shipping and hate the thing!

And if so, what was the temp you used? And no, I am not a beginner fish keeper. I am well aware of temperature requirements for both fish. I am just wondering if I can find a happy medium for the two and if anyone else has tried.

I just won a small fish (type unknown, from WalMart i think) over the weekend at a carnival and I bought it a gallon tank with built-in filtration and aeration or whatever (seen those spongbob tanks?) and it has been really happy until today, when it started attacking the bubbles and freaking out. What should I do? Could it just be its reflection at the back of the tank?

ok. my fish have had ich for about a week now.

i've added QuICK Cure everyday
added salt everyday
changed ALL my water
turned up my heater to between 80-85

the ich has already killed my two pictus catfish, but my guppies are ok. They don't seem to be doing too bad except they rarely eat anything.

Does anyone have a miracle cure for ich or should I just give up on fish?

I just got a betta fish yesterday and it's not very active. I know that it might just be getting used to it's new surroundings, water, and everything. I've never had a betta fish before. I heard today that putting them on top of a television while there is music on, makes them swims around. I tryed it and it's fins flared out A LOT. Is it bad if their fins are flared? Any other information about bettas?

I might have put my hand in the water with soap on it. Now there is some foam/bubbles that builds up around where the filter spits out. I will use a clean container to scoop the bubbles out but it always builds back up. It is not very high and is moslty just a bunch of bubbles. I have a filter. Should I rinse out the filter or something?
