no the only fish that can hiccup would be a fish with a diaphram
the only fish with a diaphram is an african lungfish, and i have one i have never seen him hiccup, he yawns though

Nope, it's not possible, fish aren't built that way. Hiccups are from a breathing situation and fish don't have lungs.

Yes they can but when they do the entire world gets sucked into a black hole of infinite doom.So...they prefer not to do it. See fish have this entire underground world where the fish plot their evil plots to destroy the planet. I know this because i was a fish in my past life, and the little suckers decided to do an experiment on humans by turning me into a human instead of keeping me a fishy prisoner. But in reality...no...they can't. See to do it they would need lungs and instead of lungs fish have gills, so no. They can't.

Fish cannot hiccup. Hiccups are caused by involuntary spasms of the diaphragm. Fish don't have lungs, so they don't have diaphragms either.

After I read your question I really had to find out, so I asked the cat fish who lives next door but she was too busy doing her taxes to answer, but I will let you know later, we are going out for a couple drinks this evening.

It depends on the fish my bichir does because it swallows atmospheric air, you can visit me at home for the evidence. not possible for other fish

yes of course they can,and when they do,best bet is to hold it upside down,put its fingers in its ears and swallow 3,not 4,must be 3 gulps of water then it will be fine,hope this is of some use to you,yeah
