I've got a 2.5 gallon tank with filter and heater. Right now it contains a female betta and a common goldfish. What other fish can I keep in there? Or, if I take both the betta and goldfish out what fish can live in that size tank? Is it possible to have any type of shark in it?

So, a couple years ago I got this beta fish. Last week I noticed this white spot on his head. He's turning white. And now my fish doesn't move. He has been in the same spot for about 4 days now. Does this mean he is dying or what does it mean? And if he is dying, do you know how long this will last? I feel bad that he has to suffer.

My small little crab latched on to one of my fantails tail.. and pulled/held it down. I dont think it happened before, or at least from what ive noticed. Now the tail if it is loose, like pulled apart. The fins are "Corroded" like its been nibbled off.. at first it was just lying on the bottom.. now its just floating in a separate container. It was still eating and swimming, but its "lifeless".. not swimming regularly.

should i be scared and do i put in any medication for it? or just have it separated?

If this is true, then how come fish are so stupid? Their natural fish oils don't seem to do much for them!

I am planning to purchase lighting for my new 55 gallon marine aquarium. I have posted several questions regarding live rock and lighting and have gotten some excellent advice. I have gotten a number of suggestions and I need at least 220 - 275 watts. What brand of lighting is better (coralife, giesemann,USA orbit/satellite) and personal experience feedback appreciated greatly! Again, thanks for all the previous advice and maybe with help I can get through this without an oceanography degree!

my females guppy is getting somewhat larger and appears to be pregnant.

it's hard to see but her gravid spot appears to be a dullish red. it's hard to tell because she's also half dark gray.

does this mean she's about to have babies or is their something wrong with her?

ive noticed that there are little bugs in my freshwater fish tank. They are circular in shape and a white/creamyish colour. Ther are always on or under the gravel. I have no idea what they are. They dont attach themselves to the fish, and im sure that the fish are eating a few of them but there are still a fair lot present.
ive tried to reserch this on the inter net but most places say its water flea, but they look nothin like water fleas, and they move different to them, water flea seem to "hop" or "jump" around the tank, where as these bugs "zoom" along the bottom along the gravel, there movement is constant when they are movin, in that is looks effotless when they move, but they do say still alot . sorry for the confusing description, but any help would be useful, thanks alot.
