Bowl, gravel, plastic plant, Betta food, water neutralizer. they might stay in small bowls, yet get one a minimum of the size of a small Goldfish bowl. Feed him 5-6 pellets an afternoon and sparkling the water as quickly as each and every week. As for names, my purple one grow to be Socrates :)

Let's see, I have a blue (with red tips) crowntail betta, that I named "His Majesty". (crown, get it? lol)
My mom's had a few red ones, and they were Cupid, Rudolph, and "that red one". lol Watch him for a couple days, interact with him, and get a feel for his attitude. I couldn't believe how much personality mine's got, and how he reacts to us!
Good luck with him!
;o)
