why are my parakets dying, i had them for at least 2 yrs and all of a sudden one started standing in the bottom of the cage and breathing hard and looked like couldnt breath and died, an then another one just started doing the same thing like 2hrs after!! is it a disease or what?? i only have 2 more left!

First, you're not getting many knowledgeable responses by posting this in "Fish"!

These are some things I'd check:

What's their temperature?
Do you have cold weather now? Use any "supplemental heating" sources? Check carbon dioxide/gas fumes. Birds are very sensitive to these and if high enough, will cause problems for humans - this is why they took canaries into mines!

In any case, I'd see about moving the two survivors to fresh air and see if they recover.

OMG this is serious this is teflon poisening or some other poisening you need to get them to the vet right away in teflon poiening birds stick there butts up in the air and breath heavey and try to poop if you don't act soon they will all die a slow but painful death!

I really don't know that much about birds but the first thing I would do would be to call my local veterinarian and see if s/he could help you out.

They may be seeing something frightining and dieing of scaredness
