my double filter only works on one side . i need to
know how to get it to move.

I assume you are talking about a bio wheel filter. Check around the spots where the wheels attach to the filter and you will probably find a rough spot on either the wheel or the filter housing. You can remove the rough stop with a very sharp knife or a fingernail file to get it moving again. Low water flow in the filter can also cause this. Make sure the filter is clean and that there is enough water in the tank.

If you are talking about a bio-wheel, check your spray bars, chances are the holes in the spray bar are clogged. Get a tooth brush and clean the two spray bars by reaming them out. As good as most filters are these days they still need to be pulled apart from time to time and really cleaned. Good luck!

is your filter a bio filter.. you may need to take it down and do a deep cleaning if you have live plants they vcan get caught up in a filter

you should buy another filter. if you just bought that one return it and get another.
