One more question lol -- how fast do goldies grow? Say in one year, do the fancies grow one to three inches each? thanks! (this is about fantail fancy varities == orandas, moores...)

I know variables make a difference. But the reason I am asking is I don't want to stunt my fishies -- if they don't appear to be growing I will get an even bigger tank asap. I want to know what to look for:) Thanks! their tank is OK for now, but if they can get 8 inches plus I will want to get larger in the future.

Wow buddy, are those fancies or comets? That seems super fast for fancies. I want mine to grow to their full extent

That is so very, very variable that it's impossible to answer correctly without knowing a lot about your system. We would need to know the tank size, how many goldfish, the year round temperature average and information about your food that you feed them. Without that any answer is a wild guess to be honest.

we set up a 55 gallon aquarium 6 months ago and our goldfish have grown 7 inches, the bigger the tank the faster they will grow!! our are huge, so big were building a pond to put them in.

Goldfishes grow the maximum during the first 3 years of their life. Like from a fry to about 6-7 inches, based on their atmosphere, food, temperature (they will grow faster if its warmer) and maintainance.

Then onwards they will grow an average of 1 inch per 2 years with proper care.

If they are in a large enough tank, with proper water and feeding it is possible for them to grow that fast, though they don't grow as fast as comets.
