Ok i didnt get to say everything. today before i went to school i put my girl betta with the male. while i was gone they laid eggs. i didnt know until i saw the girl spitting out little white thing so i looked in the nest an there are eggs. so i was looking at them and the boy goes beside it and all of a sudden she flares up while the boy awas putting in the eggs that dropped. she didnt like that he did that so she started to eat away the nest. i took her out and little waves started to form when i put my hand in. so it destroyed it. and the eggs are all over the place. and now the male is trying to eat the eggs.

So I have a freshwater aquarium and starting yesterday one of my fish decided to start randomly stacking rocks in one pile. He's the only one doing it, and he's taking the rocks from the same place and then stacking them in a single pile at the front of the tank. I've had my fish for over a year and none of them have ever done this before. I also haven't recently changed or added anything to the tank. He just started doing it for no reason what so ever....Anyone have any clue why?

I only have 5 fry in a 10 gallon tank with a pleco as the only tankmate. 1 of the fry is much much larger than the rest. Another one is also bigger but not as big as the first one. The other 3, at 2 months old, are probably small enough to get eaten by an adult guppy still. I don't know how big a cm or a mm is compared to an inch but the big one is less than 1 inch (maybe 3/4"?). The small ones are maybe about 1/4". Why the great disparity in growth? They all seem healthy and swim fine, etc. They all seem to get to eat when I feed them. I feed them several times a day and usually do partial water changes once a week but sometimes it's longer.

Also, how young can the fry get pregnant? I have not separated them- I don't care about that really- and the 2 biggest ones (females) have pretty dark gravid spots and seem kinda fat. I couldn't imagine them having babies already though. I know they can get inseminated very young... but how young can actually give birth? Thanks!

I have 5 fry that were born a few weeks ago, not sure if its been longer. They are about 1/4 inch long and are swimming around with my male and female swordtail and my neon tetra ....

my question .. my tank isn't going to be able to hold all these fish soon. I have my 3 fish PLUS a algea eater (brown) he's close to 3 inches long and my catfish which is 2 1/2 long .... my swordtails are 2 inches and my tetra is about an 1 ...
I have a 10 gallon tank. What do I do about my fry ... and what if my girl gets pregnant again .. what do i do with those fry????

I don't have anyone to give fish too .. do I just flush em down the toilet or what?? Reason I am asking is if do you think I should get another tank for my fry's or just leave them be?????

I saw these fish in a petshop. They looked like mini clownfish but a blacker and they were in a normal fishtank. They didn't need that special anenome stuff that clownfish have.
