Butterfly's grow to about 4/5inch and are a shy species, they would need plant cover as they hide in wait for passing prey so would feel very exposed without the cover, water parameters would be OK, however i think you'd find a full sized JD having a very good attempt at eating your Butterfly's so would have to say no.

For those that think they may look good in a community tank, beware Butterfly's have large mouths and are not adverse to eating Guppy's and Hatchet fish which would live at the same level, anything near the surface upto 2.5 inch's is fair game for these fish.

But they different and unusual fish are worth a species tank, they're also jumpers and with the finage can jump along way.
