depends on the fish - but generally the brighter of the two is male and it also goes on the shape of their fins, pointed fins generally mean male but again it depends on what type of fish you have. Some breeds are very difficult to tell apart so if you wanted to breed the best thing to do is get quite a few anf hope you have both male and female in them!

You have to tell us the type of fish, It is diffrent with some fish and some fish are not sexable

Stick some pots in the bowl. The one that ends up cleaning them is the girlie fish :)

totally depends on what kind of fish you have. like guppies the males are colorful and the females are plain.

Haven't the foggiest but I'm glad they can tell the difference, I'd miss my fish finger butties if they couldn't.

Depends upon breed, but usually if it is a drab colour it is female, fancy colours with fancy fins - male.
Honest - see guppies, and siamese fighters for best examples of this.
