Hi, I have a 5 ft heavily planted tank with platties(20-30), mollies(15-20), neons(20), glass catfish(10), clown loaches (2), and angolan elephant noses(4). Tank is fuctioning superbly, plants go great (2x150 watt metal halides and CO2 injection) fish never have any problems and filter is fine.

Since introducing the elephant nose I have started feeding a lot of frozen bloodworm, brine shrimp and community diet. The clown loaches have become very effective at out competing the elephant nose to the food. I usually bury it under the gravel about 1cm in four or five spots at once but the clown loaches seem to get most of it before the elephant nose have a chance. If I try to feed the elephant nose by hand (they are pretty tame) the platties will push them out of the way. Any suggestions on how to help the elephant nose get a good feed? (Other than ditching the clown loaches altogether...)

I just purchased 2 new angel fish for my 10 gallon aquarium. There are no other fish with them. The aquarium has been established for a long time. One of the angels is at the surface looking for air it seems. Is the aquarium too small? I have an ammonia tester in place and I had the water tested for everything else at the pet store and they told me it was fine.

For more details, see my previous question.
My problem is, my tank has suddenly gotten unbelievably cloudy!! This morning, it was pretty clear. Now, suddenly, by night, it's so cloudy I can hardly see my fish through it!
I have water sitting out to be used for a partial water change (which might very well be 100%) but it needs 24 hours!
What should I do now??? Will my fish be okay in such cloudy waters?? What's causing all of this??

Any help widely appreciated! Please reply ASAP!!

I have an african clawed underwater frogs and I am sure that my female has swallowed 3 pea sized pebbles in my aquarium. Is there anything I can do that can make her reveargatate (sp?) or other means not including cutting her. She is about 2 inches with the legs. I am sure she swallowed it. Thanks, This question is open to all but state if you had experience with theese frogs. Oh, and frogs aren't reptiles.

My fish has been what I thought was pregnant for over two months. The fish eats just as much as the other two and acts the same as the others. But the fish is really fat. Does it even matter? When I bought them over 6 months ago they were all the same size.

I have 3 dwarf platys and an apple snail in a 3.5 gallon tank. I feed my fish once a day with flake food. They have air bubbles and the temp stays in the 70’s.

I am new to fish and have a few other Q's.
How long do dwarf platys live?
How long does a fish stay pregnant?
How can you tell what gender a fish is?
And any other tips a new fish owner should know.

Thanks for any information.

I recently brought 2 black moors from a pet shop and when choosing a suitable tank was reared towards the Iborb 15L, being told it was suitable for the 2. Since set up I have had hell with amonia and nitrite levels, amonia is now but a trace though nitrite is at 5.0 and nitrate high also, I understand new tank syndrome but every other day water changes don't seem to help much, will this process balance soon, approx week 6 now, also cloudness of water and now my smallest blackmoor seems to have swim bladder, bouyancy issues mainly sleeps at top as floats to surface after struggled swim, a bit worried, and the larger blackmoor has started nipping and eating all the food, have cut out flake/pellets and started with peas, ordered swimbladder medicine, looking into larger tank as I believe the pet shop owner lied, but am low on cash due to the expense on setup so far, I have a small 3 gallon tank from childhood, should I quarantine smaller fish or do full treatment in main with meds. help
