I don't think you are going to find a site that lists all tropical fish. Aquahobby.com is a good one for general freshwater fish reference. Planetcatfish is a good resource for various plecos and catfish.

If you are looking to buy fish i wouldn't suggest going online, because most online websites are unreliable and shipping costs almost just as much as the fish you are looking to buy if not more. But if you just want to look up information about a fish just use google.
