You were correct to do what you did. If you suspect an internal parasite or bacteria infection such as often causes they problems you describe, you should never allow the fish to die in a tank with other fish, this just allows the disease to spread more easily. Further more, odds are very, very high the two sick fish would not have lived long and would have suffered in the mean time. It was best for those two fish and best for the other fish in your tank. A hard call to make, but the right thing to do.

a 10 gallon is a few distance too small for an area tank!! fantastically, an area tank with a betta. Betta's are territorial, and neon tetras are small and incredible colored. huge fish, consume small fish. i does not placed to any extent further fish into that 10 gallon tank. additionally a school of neon's, 6+, pick a 20 gallon tank for the reason that they pick assorted room to swim and stay greater healthful. additionally, neon tetras may well be too incredible for BBetta's, bettas see incredible colorations as a wager, and that they'll attack it. Your betta is basically protecting its turf, and observed the tetra as an interloper. I very own an area tank with 6 female Betta's, and tetras, and platies. I additionally very own 9 male Betta's. Male Betta's do effective in a 10 gallon on my own, to have tank friends i does not advise something decrease than 20 gallons.
