Since you asked about hardy fish I would recommend the Serpae Tetra or the Danios. Long finned Zebras if available for you then get a touch of beauty to go with their more plain lines.

I would have agreed on Cardinals or Neons but they are more fragile breeds and their beauty, though remarkable (and I even love the Black Neons) does not offset the drawback of their inherent fragility.

Hope this helps and good luck.

bypass for a 20 gallon. there are in straightforward words some fish that would stay in a 10 gallon tank, yet with a 20 gallon you'll get tetras, dwarf cichlids, livebearers, and different small-medium sized fish. Plus, the water circumstances are extra good in a 10 gallon. A 20 lengthy has an fairly good footprint for fish.

Hey there. If you want peaceful fish, stick with tetras, small danios, small rainbowfish (ie dwarf neon rainbow), and rasboras (though they tend to be a bit less hardy than other types). For a feistier mix, choose smaller barbs (tiger, ruby, checkered, odessa or cherry), or some of the more aggressive tetras (blind cave fish, black skirt tetra, colombian tetra, serpae tetra). Try not to think of all tetras as peaceful; a hungry school of black skirt or serpae tetras could make a betta's fins or guppies tails disappear in a flash.
Hope this helps,

Tetras are great schooling fish. So are Rasboras. I like the Dwarf Rasbora...

I have Serpae Tetras, and Neon Tetras, and they are really cool.

If you added something very colorful like a Betta, it would look really nice. ( That's what I did )

Ps. Danios are also good schooling fish, but they don't really require a heater... the Zebra Danio is nice....

Most any tetra or rasbora would do well in your tank. I like harliquin and espii rasboras. Cardinal, neon, and black neon tetras are also nice schooling fish. Corydoras catfish are great schooling bottom dwellers. I would recommend about a dozen tetras and about half that many corys.

Depends on if they will be the only fish or not. To add with other fish I like checkerboard barbs, gold barbs, lemon tetras, bleeding hearts and Rasbora het

By themselves it's hard to beat Cardinal tetras or Congo tetras.

You asked for tropicals you got 'em! I recommend neon or cardinal tetras. They are the best and they are beautiful. I had them successfully for years. White cloulds (minnow) aren't schooling or tropical.
Thanks for your time to read this.

White Cloud Mountain minnows are hardy, and funny. Get them. They're also sold as feeder fish, so they're really cheap.
