It is a 10 gallon tank with 4 cichlids and 2 plecos. I use all of the water conditioners how I am supposed to use them. I do everything for the fish tank "by the book".

I have a 20gal freshwater feeder tank for my lionfish. I want something pretty in there, because all I have at the moment are feeders. Is there anything that I can have that won't eat the feeders?

I was givin a long finned danio from the pet store cause she had no tail..in fact the tail is eaten down to what looks like bone on the bottom side ....the top still has a little bit of fin left....will her tail grow back after being eatten down that far??
I know most tails do grow back just wondering if she is never going to heal and if I'm prolonging her agony by thinking that it will grow.

Yesterday I bought 2 bumble bee gobies.

Today at lunch I looked at my tank, I saw one of my gobies I bought, but not the other. But then I saw what looked like 2 tiny baby gobies! They are striped liked the gobies, and are about 5 millimeters big!

is it possible that they are baby gobies?

If so, what should I do with them?!?!

I have recently restarted my tank. After many trial and errors I do believe I have found my perfect fish lol. I have a 10g tank, with a few decos in it already *bubbling gargoyle, 2 fake plants, and some simple home made caves from rocks, along with pebble gravel*. I have a plecostamos *sp?* in the tank as well, but I was just curious as to what other fish would I be able to put in there? I was thinking of maybe some neon tetras and 2 dwarf frogs. But I'm not sure if the Tetras would become fin nippers. Any ideas?

Ok, I liked my past responses lets not lower the bar :). I have some marine fish im gonna be shipping. I dont have a water tight enclosure so they will be bagged which isnt a problem based off past feedback. NOW the big question is keeping them alive. The trip will be a maximum of 16 hours hopefully less hopefully. Now heres my main concern. Air in the bags. How much air is necessary per fish to be safe. I have these bag buddies 1 tablet per gallon it aerates the water as well as slightly sedates them(its made for fish nothing im putting together) so that theyre less stressed. I want to get my fish there alive. Please let me know your suggestions on this(how much water per fish, how much air per bag, things to add per bag ect..). Also please tell me the success rate on shipping. And please dont answer with give your fish away and buy more these are salt water not freshwater they arent cheap and they are my pets. Thanks in advance.

I have 2 tanks (soon I hope to be 3) with very happy fish. All I do is:

water changes, -5 gallon for the 26g, and around -1/3 for the 5g (soon I hope to be replaced by a 6g, I don't really have room for a 10g).

I do filter cleaning on the Aquaclears, which amazingly has no carbon but that product Algone (of course it has floss and that bacteria condo, too)

Occasionally I do a water test.

I add salt to the replacement water and Novaqua +.

I add ph 7.0 if nessarry (bad spelling).

Clean the glass of algae and exterior cleaning of everthing.

and of course feed the fish!

Tho it's not in order, thats pretty much all I really do, and my fish are not hating me (yet...). Is there anything else I need to do happy healthy aquarium. I wanna I have what best for my fish!

I have a male and a female. They have seen each other for about 3 weeks. He is no longer slamming into the side of his tank. They both just look at each other and are back to blowing bubbles. (He was blowing nests till we put her near him. Now he is just blowing random bubbles.) How can I tell how old she is? The pet shop where we got her is not help. They say they are not even sure what supplier they got her from. One said the maturity is based on size alone. If so ... what size? Very confused....! Brendonn

I am aware of the CITES endangered species listings on Asian Arowana. I do have 2 Silver ones of the South American heritage, and an Austrailian/Malaysian crossed Arowana. I am and have been for months now trying to locate where and how to apply for a permit to import a red/green/and or Golden Arowana from Asia. Where do I find this information, and what kind of requirements can I expect to encounter? Educated or researched answers please.

I have had my betta about eight months now, and when I got him he had fin rot. I did not know too much about bettas when I then and the whole time I have had him he has been battling this. Some weeks he looks like he is going to get better and his tail growing back and then it seems like all of that disapeers and we are back where we started. He lives in a 2.5 gallon tank and has the whole time I've had him, I've tried Melofix, I've tried a little aquiruim salt. It all seems to work temporarily..... any help?

I have a very small, two gallon fish tank where I've been keeping Sprite, my Betta. However, over time a lot of algae has grown inside and my mother kept pressuring me to get an algae eater. I was afraid it would be too small, so when we went to Petco, the man suggested a "Gold Algae Eater" because "they grow according to the tank." Pleased with my little guy, I brought him home and named him Midas, and placed him in my tank with Sprite. But as I watched them, Sprite (being so much bigger) suddenly decided that Midas was a moving target and started to chase after him. Worried, I yanked him from the tank (since, according to Petco, Midas needs the running water) and Sprite has been in a bowl for a day. I was going to exchange Midas for another, bigger algae eater today and see if that stops Sprite from being a brute. What do you think? Has anyone else had this problem before?

Hi,
I have had my fishtank for about 5 weeks now and its still slightly hazy, yes I know all about new tank cycling. Basically I havent had an algae bloom yet and its been quite some time. Im not sure what to do. I do partial water changes and I do not clean the filter so the bacteria can grow. I even removed 4 out of the 9 fish to make it easier. Still no algae yet. What should I do?

thanks,
bob

I have one 55 gallon full of community fish and a few semi-aggresssive. Just the other day a friend gave me another 55 gallon and i want something cool in my tank. I live in a semi-rual area so really exotic fish aren't best and no salt water. I was thinking about going with African Chichlids? Does anyone have any idea?
