Betta Food?

Question

I have Betta Bites nd on the back, it says, feed 2x per day and feed 6-8 pieces per serving. is 2x a day 2 much or should i do what it says?

You can feed either once or twice a day, either is fine. Personally I like to feed my fish twice a day. Once with pellets or flakes and once with a live or frozen food.

Personally, I only feed my betta once a day, and only 4-7 pieces. You really don't need to feed the betta so much; fish, like most pets, don't always know what's good for them.
Remember that a betta only has a stomach the size of its eyeball; overfeeding could lead to killing! Also, the more you feed, the more your betta poops; the dirtier the water gets; the more you have to clean; the higher the nitrates and gunk! So don't overfeed. Don't worry about your betta dying of hunger; these guys are tough, okay?

Also, is betta bites all you have? Personally, I suggest you supplement these with some bugs; freeze-dried or live bloodworms will be greedily gobbled-up! :)

6-8 pellets twice a day is likely to cause constipation, especially if the betta is small or fairly young. I'd try 3-4 pellets twice a day. or if you'd like to do 6 pellets twice a day, fast him once a week and also once a week replace his food with the inside of a frozen pea. soak the frozen pea in hot water until both are room temp. peel the skin off the pea and feed him bite sized pieces of the pea.

Yes that is too much. those packages are sometimes unreliable. I say feed your betta every 4 or 5 days (yes I know it sounds weird, but wild fish dont find food in day or weeks) giving him only about 3 or 4 pellets. Maybe even give him 1 pellet a day. OVERFEEDING IS THE MAIN CAUSE OF FISH DEATH, my friend >; )
