Do they hurt him adn how do I get rid of them he lives in a tank with and African Dwarf Frog?

He is also very sluggish and hiding in a decoration he usually comes right over to me when I come in the room. Should I take him out of the tank adn put him in a gallon of water alone?

these spots are prolly Ich or some kind of fungus.

either way move it to its own tank, try to keep the water at 82 degrees and leave him there with some meds for parasites and fungus for a 10-12 days.

Do not use gravel in the hospital tank, definitely add something he can hide in though.

First, your betta probably has a very common parasite called ich. It looks like someone sprinkled the fish with salt. It's very easy to treat with medications from the pet shop. I would move the frog out of the tank and treat the betta where he is. Less stress on the betta that way and to cure ich you need to treat the entire tank, not just the one sick fish.

I'm not sure exactly what it is called that your fish has but this has happen to my fish before. You need to go a pet store and ask a person working there what you need and they should be able to help you out from there....But yes, they do sell something that will get rid of the white spots on your Beta, also, I don't think he is in pain because he would be floating to the top if that was the case.....Good Luck!

By the sounds of it he has ich. This is a fairly common fish disease and can be healed fairly easy. Your local pet shop and probably even WalMart will sell a large variety of over the counter cures. Just ask at the store which one they think will be best for your little guy. While you are waiting for the pet store to open, you can do a partial water change to help reduce the amount of contangient in his acquarium. I hope the your little buddy feels better soon.

That is fungus. Go to your pet store and tell them you need some anti-fungus medication for you betta. probably the medication is locked up, and it probably will have a picture of a betta and white spots on it. If you treat it fast it will go away. Dont forget while treating your betta to clean the take often to get out all the fungus.

It sounds like your betta has ick (ich). This is pretty easy to clear up with some drops from a pet store or other store that sells pet supplies. He should survive, however it is good to treat it soon as this can kill fish if left untreated. Good luck!

he probably has a sickness called "ick" they have treatment products at Wal-Mart and stuff, but you may have to move it to a bowl for the time being and scrub the hell out of the tank its in, so you dont hurt the frog with ick medicine.
