When treating one fish with maracyn, is it safe to use it on the entire community tank. Is it also safe to be used at the same time as ick treatment?

Yeah, I have another question about tank cycling. My tank is relatively new so it is still cycling.

The first numbers there are two days ago, the numbers on the right are todays numbers:

Ammoina- 0.5 ..|.. 0.25
Nitrite- 10 ..|.. 5
Nitrate- 20 ..|.. 20
Chlorine- 0 ..|.. 0
Hardness- 75 ..|.. 75
Alkalinity- 80 ..|.. 0
pH- 7.8 ..|.. 6.8

Ammonia and Nitrite are dropping, which I take it is a good sign.

Why didn't the nitrates raise in the nitrites went down? I do have the order right, right? Ammonia --> Nitrite --> Nitrate

What is alkalinity, and should this be 0? Seems like 80 to 0 is a drastic change, but I don't know what it means so...

i just have to know where to get half moons, dragons, double tails and any other standard blue or blue and red bettas. all weird and wonderful colours especially black, yellow, green, gold and bright ones, i mean really really bright ones.
it has to be in the sydney area. even websites that ship to sydney but no shonky ones.
if there are any other types you know of you think id like not mentioned here please let me know.

I have two ten gallon tanks but I would love to put them together into one. It is not for fish. I want to expand my hermit crab tank. How can I do it? Or is it better just to spend the $27 at Petsmart for the 20-gallon tank? ;-) Thanks for any help!

I just bought a marine tube worm, I thought it was an anemone until the guy dug it up and sold it to me. now its in my tank and I don't know if I should burry it or if it will do it on it's own. The part that goes under the sand is purple and the "top" looks like an anemone with pink tentacles. the name of this worm would be apreciated as well.

never buy under pressure, next time I will go back when I have more time and ask the proper questions before I buy.

I had thought my Flame Tetra was pregnant because her belly was big...and now i see a white pebble thing in my tank. And would my Tetra be around "the egg" all the time? Oh and also, would my algea eater eat it? Thank You very much

You are one of the few people on Yahoo who actually knows about the needs of goldfish. But does anybody agree with me that she is rude in how she goes about helping new people? Yellong at them is not a way to convince them. You don't go to the pet store and start screaming at the employees for giving out bad information do you? Why is the internat different. If anybody wants to convince somebody that they are wrong, they have to be mature and professional about it if they are going to have any chance of changing somebodies mind.

I have a 55 gal marine tank that I just added a 750 Watt halide+cf light to. Naturally, yellow algae is growing like mad. I have 5 snails inside, but they got sick because of high nitrate levels (but they lived). I changed 50% water and replaced crushed coral with live sand, they're much happier now. I have live rock but not quite enough yet. Does the yellow algae hurt the tank quality ? How necessary is a UV sterilizer and will it remove 100% of the algae or just reduce it ? Will coraline algae still be able to grow witha UV sterilizer? I have a protein skimmer but not a refugium. Hope this is enough info. Thanks very much!!!

He was very healthy, and from some time ago, I noticed that he didn't eat as much as before, then found that his stomach area is so bloated up, almost like some kind of tumor !! He has been like that for a few weeks, and still moving ok. but it won't eat. Is he gonna die? Is there anything that I can do?

I have had water sitting in a small tank for about 4 days now, and just bought an Aquaview 1 gallon tank today, and transferred the water into it. Would it be safe to put my f. betta (currently in a 10g) into this tank already? Btw, it has filtration(and gravel and a fake plant). And the heat is working its way up, about 75 degrees now.

Suddenly I have this clear slime in my 29 gal. fresh water aquarium. It is mostly in the gravel and artificial plants but there is alot of it, Is it some kind of Algae? Everything else seems fine and my fish seem healthy.

Im thinking i should get an automatic fish feeder but i don't feel safe leaving that incharge, i will not know if it is working properly.
