Thanks Copperhead for the super speedy reply, and for the link. I'll check it out and read up on them all. The tank will be around 60 litres (haven't actually bought it yet, just doing my research first :)). Thanks once again.

Bornean, redtail, and South American are the best choices - even then, these may have territory problems, especially the first two. Even multiple dwarfs shouldn't be kept in too small of a tank as adults as they can be aggressive. Keep any in a well planted tank - they'll use the plants to stake out their territories and hide if someone is too much of a bully.
