I have a betta fish and I just changed his water last week. Well I noticed today that the water is like a yellowish color. What causes that and how can i get rid of it?

It's not sperm and I don't have any kids or any animals that can reach him. The whole betta tank water is yellow not just alittle of it but the whole tank

Do you have any wood or live plants in the water? These can leach tannins and other chemicals into the water and give it a yellow tint. If you have a filter, adding carbon will eliminate (or at least reduce) the coloration.

Is the betta is a bowl? This is could just be organic matter dissolved from fish wastes. In the small betta bowls, you'll need to change the water about every 2-3 days.

Probably proteins from uneaten food. If youhve your betta in anything less that a filtered 1 gallon or more you really need to change his water every 2-3 days.
