Yes you can, but you really should do it before putting the water in the tank or the fish in the water.

Hi! Yes you can because they are both tropical fish. I would recommend that you do it before putting in the fish, If you already have the fish in there I would say take them out and put them in a different container and than after you add the condition to the tank, let it sit for a little bit and then put your fish in! Yes, Aquasafe is not as bad as medication and I have tried it myself and nothing happened.
