I fill her large bowl at least 3 times per day. Sometimes she lies down by her bowl and just drinks. She has a play and then gets tired . Her weight is fine and she eats well dry food. Is this normal?. I was thinking Diabetes but isnt this in older dogs?

My dog was spayed on friday and is doing quite well. She is an outdoor dog and wants to be outside with the other dogs so badly ( I currently have 2 dogs of my own and 2 fosters ). I am going to call the vet tomorrow and ask when she can play safely but I wanted to get some of your opinions. I just dont want her to hurt herself playing too roughly. What do you think? I am still going to keep her indoors untill the vet says its ok for her to roughhouse, but she is driving me crazy groaning and whining to go out. I do take her out on leash to use the bathroom but she wants to wrestle with the others. How soon has your dogs been able to resume normal activity?

Okay..let me give this a whirl. I am so confused on what to do. I own both the Sire and Dam. I have 2 beautiful Boxers that some how tangled up and Dam got pregnant. I tried very hard not to have this happen, due that I wasn't sure if I was going to let her have a litter or not. Why,because of what has happened. I always said if she had a litter,I know I would want to keep one. That would mean 3 boxers. I would have her fixed after. I do not want to breed more, just a person with great dogs all the way around that I love..and know they would have super dogs for people to love as much as I do..smile. My concern is my Zoey and Boss get along so well and I am afraid of the horror storys some people have had with having 3 dogs. So I guess my questions are ..Do dogs get along better when it's parents and pup? Will they still fight for the alfha or beta when they get older? Is it better to have 2 females or 2 males? I have a huge yard for them to run in. House is big enough? Help

I know that they are probally to young but, can I at least wash the puppies with puppy shampoo? Can I wash the mother in flea shampoo? Should I just use puppy shampoo on her as well?

Sort of a poll, I guess.
What's better?

A) Feeding my dog Solid Gold: Barking at the Moon dog food, and feed him raw /once/ a week?
(or)
B) Feeding my dog Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul dog food, and feed him raw /twice/ a week?

Chicken Soup has a 4/6 star rating. And Solid Gold: BatM has a 6/6 star rating and has no grains.

this has been happening for about a week, when it was the first 3 days he didn't move at all now he's back to his old self

he accidently ate a piece of raw chicken..but i don't know if that's whats causing this..

will this just blow over or will we have to take him in to the doctors?

On the side of the bag, it says for his age and weight (11 weeks and around 13 pounds) that you should feed 1 3/4 cups. However, I know you're supposed to feed him atleast three times a day. So, do you feed him that much every sitting, or is that all together?

It seems like it's not enough if it's all together in a day, but it seems too much for every sitting..Help?

My dog is deathly afraid of water -- thus, anytime we've tried to give him a bath, he runs scared. No amount of coaxing will help, and he's too big for us to pick up. He won't even get anywhere near a water source. Not even his water dish sometimes. It's gotten so bad, that I can't remember the last time we bathed him. It's unhealthy for him to stay so dirty, and I want to give him a bath. Please help!

What kind of home remedy can I use to put in my dogs' food to keep them from eating their poop? I've seen the stuff that they sell at the clinics and in the pet catalogs, but that stuff is way too expensive for me to feed to 4 dogs! I've got 2 that I can't stop from eating poop and it disgusts me. Any ideas of some kind of concoction I can sprinkle of their food?

I asked this question about an hour ago and like 5 people said to feed her boiled rice, hamburger, or chicken.
What's the purpose?
Is it healthy?
Will it make her puke more?
...or will it come out the other end? O.O

help.

Not getting it yet, but it's good to do research now for when I get one in a few years or so.

* Size doesn't matter.
* Obviously it will need some sort of grooming, but I don't want something that needs to be brushed twice a day (1-2 days a week is much better).
* Not a dog that has a really high exercise need.
* Not a species prone to excessive barking.
* Good with small children.

I've had experience with owning a Beagle and a German Shepherd X Border Collie as family pets.

She is a 14yr old black Lab, and has several lumps on her body that appeared as she reached her senior years. Supposetly fatty deposits.

At first we thought it was her coat and skin. We would bathe her but, then realized that it was coming from her mouth.
She does get her teeth cleaned, no food has been changed, and she doesn't chew on anything. She is not on any meds.
Her ears are clean too.

Someone told me it could be cancer. Is this true? Is there a smell when a dog gets sick, internally? Does cancer have a distinct smell?
The smell is horrible and stinks up which ever room she is in.

We used to have a chocolate lab, but she passed away a few years ago, she was the perfect dog!
Now my parents want a smaller dog that dosent shed as much.
Maybe like the size of a beagle or a little bigger.
I would like a golden or lab, so i could play with it without worrying about squashing it whenever i take a step. So if theres a medium breed you know of that kind of has a big dog in a little dogs body, that would be great.

I just got a siberian husky 3 days ago she is 4months and i still live at home with my parents untill 8 more months. She doesn't act like a puppy because she doesn't chew anything or mess in the house. The problem is that I have to keep her in my room when I'm going to bed because my mom doesn't want her to running around through the house at night by her self because she is still a puppy. At night i will try to sleep and she wines and scratches at the door and she will do this about 10 to 15mins and i want to know how can I make her get use to sleeping in a room with a closed door untill i get my own place? I notic that she wants to play with my moms older dog but he doesn't want to play because he is old if i wanted to get another dog would a German Shepherd or a Dalmatian get along with a husky or would the husky get along with them ? I've been searching the internet and readin books about Siberian Huskys but if anyone wants to share more information that would be great!
thanks!!!

I'm thinking of getting a puppy but need a loyal, understanding, cute (of course), not too big, doesn't shed too much, doesn't need to much excercise, and a dog that doesn't make to much noise.

Please include reason!

I lost my boy this morning. It's Sunday, so no places are open. I'm considering burying him in his favorite spot next to the house in the back yard. Is that okay to do? Are there any considerations I need to make from a health/sanitary standpoint? I'm not thinking too straight right now.

I have a Chihuahua pup, Cujo. He is healthy and happy, but him and his brother developed what they call, "reverse sneezing". People have told me things I can do to stop it when it happens, but I was wondering if there was something that would prevent it from happening. I just hate how it sounds and don't want him to have an irritated feeling in his sinuses.
