I have a Shih Tzu and where ever he licks he turns orange. He is orange on his mouth also. I have had no help from my vet with this problem. She just put him on antihistimines. I give him a good food with no artificials colors. I take him to the groomers, but two days later he is licking himself orange again. Please Help!

I adopted a mix-breed dog (who was about 1 y.o.) 5 years ago from a no-kill shelter. Her behavior has always been a problem, but continues to get worse and worse. She is agressive towards other dogs, strangers, my friends and even myself. Her outbursts occur with little provocation. (For ex: she snarled and tried to bite me this morning when I passed by on the way to the bathroom). She has bitten me many times before. She barks ferociously and snarls in a way that makes Cujo look cuddly. I've tried training classes (we were asked to leave on account of her behavior), consulted the vet, read books, followed The Dog Whisperer w/ devotion, etc. All of my efforts do not pay off. My dog has NO respect for me or anyone. I love her dearly but she is starting to scare me! I really worry that she will hurt me or somebody else. I know I will be riddled w/ guilt if I bring her back, but I also fear lawsuit and injury. Help! Any advice?

Which is worse...
A) Dogs at the shelter being put to sleep humanely ??

B) People who adopt these dogs and either can't or won't provide proper vet care, and allow them to suffer?

Our cat is fourteen years old. She is a darling little cat. We love her very much! We just brought home a 3 yrs. old Norwegian Elkhound from a breeder in June. At first the cat and dog ignored each other. Then they declared war!!!! The cat was fine. Minding her own buisness when, WHAM! The dog jumped on the cat! The cat ran as fast as she could away from him but, he caught her. I grabed him and put him in his crate. He has gone after her countless times since and she (the cat) can't defind herself!! I'm afraid he's gonna kill her! PLEASE HELP SAVE MY KITTY AND MY DOG!!!

After begging, begging, begging, begging, and more begging, my mom is finally going to let me get a dog!
I have narrowed it down to either a Weimaraner, a Lab, a Great Dane, or a Boxer. Which one do you like the best? And feel free to include name suggestions!

I was playing with my normally very friendly golden retriever in the park yesterday. He loves his ball and a little girl was throwing it for him, he did seem a bit possesive of it.Anyway, she was just stroking him gently, he had the ball in his mouth and he suddenly bit her.It was really horrible, luckily her mother wasnt angry. He didnt draw blood but i cant let this happen again.I have decided to ban him playing with his ball, keep him away from children and possibly get him castrated. Can anyone shed any light on this?I am so shocked by this, I have two children of my own so know how the mother must have felt.
So disappointed in my dog, who is normally so friendly.

Please only answer seriously and only if you know about dogs or have a dog:

My brother does not have the time this summer to take my dog to the vet. He is so busy with his work and everytime he finds out he gets a day off, the vet is all booked. We were supposed to visit the vet about 3 months ago for vacines, check-ups, and heart-worm tests, but its getting late in the summer and I don't think my brother will ever take my dog. I just wanna know if its ok that she didn't take her vaccinations and stuff (only this year). Has anybody raised a dog without taking their dog to the vet and without giving it shots? She doesn't interact with other dogs that often and even if she does its only for a few minutes . I can't take her myself because I can't drive. But my dog seems very active and healthy. She is 5.

WELL MY NEIGHBOURS HAVE 2 VERY CUTE DOGS...FROM HELL!!
they always come over to our yard...
and **** EVERYWHERE...

Recently i have made a game...

its called..

HOSE DOG...
when i see one of the 2 dogs come to my yard...
i immediately grab the hose...
and proceed to shoot water not at them...
BUT by them...

also the cute little dogs have take a liking in my cat...

you know animals..

well their friendship is so great...
the dogs come over to our yard...
and take my cat's food...

so earlier i came home right...
you know...

i was tired and the weather was hot...
and it still is...
so i got out of the car...
and right in the middle of the drive way...

is the biggest pile of..

FECES ...
i had seen...

so me being so courteous and good mannered...

proceeded to enter my place...

and told my mother...

"ESOS PINCHES COGNOS DE PERROS SE CAGARON OTRA VES..."

translation..

"THOSE NICE LITTLE DOGS HAVE LEFT US A PRESENT OUT IN THE DRIVE WAY"

she responded...with...

GO TELL THE NEIGHBOURS...

so i wanted to go out side you know...

to tell them in the most good mannered and coy voice....

"HELLO NEIGHBOURINOS....NICE DAY WERE HAVING HERE"
your cute little dogs have left their nice little mark in our drive way"

may you clean it up...

wHEN I WENT OUT SIDE...

they had left...

They were no where to be seen...

SO AS SOON I SEE THEM I AM GONNA TELL THEM THAT...

maybe not in the same tone of voice...

and my choice in words might be a little more explicit but i hope they get the point...

MY QUESTION NOW IS...

"WHAT DO YOU THINK I SHOULD DO..?"

should i go and express my grief to them...
or what..!?

GIVE THEM A LITTLE PRESENT OF MINE..!?

PLEASE HELP...

Do you know anyone who wants to sell a pottytrained shih tzu or pomeranian that cost under $800? It has to be in washington, otherwise the seller would have to ship it to me in some way. If you do know any, can you please give me their email? Thanks for any answers.

I have a really sweet female golden retriever puppy who gets along great with everyone and everything. I have another dog, a full grown standard poodle female who is well trained and also gets along with everyone and everything. My older girl has lived with other dogs and is quite the alpha female (but not aggressive) and my golden knows that. The problem is, when I feed them, my golden will happily go about eating her food, then, even if my Standard is across the room, my golden will start growling and barking at the standard as if she feels threatened that the standard will take her food (I've started watching them while they eat and my standard does not take her food at least while I'm around). I'm eager to know the correct way to stop this before it becomes a big problem and leads to more aggression. I have started feeding them in seperate rooms but I don't know that that is solving the problem. Help?

We have a small dog for 5 years now. He loves us and the new baby but we haven't been able for years to bring in visitors because he wouldn't stop barking. At anyone. Most of the time I'm a stay at home mom.

Doggy has a huge yard, frequent trips to the dog park (where he behaves bad, too). We don't leave him alone at home after 1 messed up carpet and a scratched door. If we have to, he stays in his crate for a few hours.

So yesterday there were 2 kids playing outside and he just ran off and barked at them. Hubby had to get him back in the house again. We were so mad..
This morning he almost bit the maintenance guy even though our dog knows that person well.
What can we do? Every try to make him obedient failed so far. My husband just wants to get rid of our pet.
