I'm thinking a Boxer is the nicest dog. Never had one but I do have a friend with one. It's the time you put into that new puppy and the relationship you develop. When you get your Boxer pup I'd suggest attending a puppy school with him. It's a way to help in the training but more importantly to me it's a way to socialize your dog to other strange dogs and people while spending time with you. You could call your local Humane Society to get some options. They're inexpensive and sometime free sponsored by county of animal groups. But make sure you get your pup his shots before you start to attend.

Honestly, the nicest type of dog is one that is well-groomed, socialized, and well-trained. That is a dog you can take into public and not worry about, a dog that will behave when friends come over, and one that will be welcome at dog parks and the vet's office.
Every pet owner can have this type of dog, so long as they are willing to put in the work in the beginning. The first 6 months with your dog may seem endless as you house train, work on basic leash and home manners, and struggle with obedience lessons. But the reward is 10 or more years with a dog you can be proud of! What type of dog could be nicer than that?

I love boxers myself. A friend of mine had one and she was the sweetest and most lovable dog. I would probably have one myself if I could keep a bigger dog inside. I have two small dogs now. One is a Tibetan Terrier which is also a really sweet dog. The other is an 18 year old Papillon/ Pomeranina mix and is grumpy in her old age. A boxer is a great choice!!

boxers are great -active though. Good if you like jogging. Not the brightest, but good.
If you have small children and want an outgoing, friendly charcter for them to play and grow up with, a cocker psaniel is the best - you will have to watch because he is so friendly, almost to his detriment -children can poke and pull and he will just sit there and take it. Will let you know when intruders are around and is lively and happy and full of energy - but hates being left alone, will cry and pine. So no dog if you are working long hours. It i s not fair.

The nicest dog for me is the Japanese Akita - she is the best dog I have ever owned - beautiful to look at, cuddly... and great with kids... but a guard dog when she needs to be....!

Boxer are good dogs. The best dog I ever had was a beagle, Be was easy to house train and was good with the kids. His name was bullet because he was so fast. We now have a pit bull (Harley Earl) and a terrier mix ( Shaggy). They both are good dogs. It just depends on what you like.

Rottweilers are the nicest dogs when they're born but if you or someone else trains them to be mean they they can be very mean so make sure you get a puppy if your getting one.
