The mom took off for about 2 days (I fed them goat's milk) and came back infested and now the pups are suffering.

OK, now I have been through this before, too many times with customers of mine.

There is nothing that you can/should treat the puppies with! Do not bath, spray, dip, sevin dust, etc. them at all! To treat them, you need to treat the momma. From what I have been told by my own vet, you can treat the mother with a pill called Capstar. This usually runs under $5. This will kill all the fleas that get on her for 24 hours. Also, I believe that it is Advantage that you can use on the mother, so use it. (You may want to double check that with the vet, but I am 99% sure.)

Once the pet has been treated, you must treat your home and yard. The best products to do this would include not only a killing agent, but also a sterilization agent. Inside, I would use Ultracide, if you can get it. (Many on line sites sell it.) Follow the instructions on the label! Wash all animal’s bedding and vacuum frequently. Throw out the vacuum bag or dump the catch container after every vacuuming. You can never vacuum too much! DO NOT STEAM CLEAN YOUR RUGS! This can hatch flea eggs and make your problem worse.

Outside I would use Demon WP mixed with Gentrol or Nylar, carefully following label instructions. Treat the entire yard, paying special attention to under bushes and low hanging branches. Most of these products can be bought at any Do-It-Yourself Pest Control company either on line or in a store.

Treating your house and yard is just as important as treating the pet!

It is also very important to stay away from the grocery store or box store products like Zodiac or Hartz. Many of these products can cause severe allergic reactions in animals.

time to take them all to the vet as there is no other the counter product that is safe for pups that young.

a little prevention goes a long way. plus a new mother owuld never leave her pups for anything let alone for 2 days.

You had the problem for the pups because you didn't care enough about the mother dog to give her a monthly $5 preventative. Which shows that you also probably were irresponsible in letting the ***** get pregnant and probably haven't cared for the pups you have since created in a proper manor
