Call your vet, ask them how much children's Benadryl to give your boxer. A cold compress will also help. If the stinger is not out find it, and scrape it off, don't squeeze it.
When our Maltese used to get a sting on the foot, I'd try and find the stinger, then I'd put his foot in ice water (cold water w/ ice cubes) and shortly after he'd be fine. We never had a facial sting though so never treated that per sa. Good luck.

Hi,
Ouch, I am sure he is traumatized a little, after all he is just a puppy. But no worries....Make sure the stinger is removed and take a cotton ball and apply some rubbing alcohol to the stung area. Then apply a small amount of Tea Tree Oil, this is a anti bacterial and anti fungal (keep it away from the eyes ) give give him lots of hugs and loves. Take a small bag of frozen veggies out of the freezer (like peas) or crush some ice and put it into a baggie and then into an old sock and hold it on his face for a while, be sure he is distracted by a tummy scratch while your holding the ice on his face and the swelling should go down. Believe me, this will not be the only time he finds himself into mischief.. ~Blessings~

If the swelling is mild and only occuring in the spot where the sting happened, you can hold an ice cube wrapped in paper towel over the spot for 10 minutes. This will reduce the swelling and help ease pain. If the stinger is still in his skin the ice will help to remove it.

At this age, you shouldn't use benadryl at home without first consulting with your vet. A quick phone call to them will be helpful in determining if you can use benadryl or if he may need to go in for a visit. Good luck!

You can give him benedryl. My Boxer was always getting stung in the face during the Summer and the Vet told me to give her benedryl.
