She is a 14yr old black Lab, and has several lumps on her body that appeared as she reached her senior years. Supposetly fatty deposits.
At first we thought it was her coat and skin. We would bathe her but, then realized that it was coming from her mouth.
She does get her teeth cleaned, no food has been changed, and she doesn't chew on anything. She is not on any meds.
Her ears are clean too.
Someone told me it could be cancer. Is this true? Is there a smell when a dog gets sick, internally? Does cancer have a distinct smell?
The smell is horrible and stinks up which ever room she is in.

The lumps were all checked out when they started to appear. The vet was not concerned about them. He has this happens when they get older.

Sadly, I do have to say when dogs are ill with cancer (and towards the end) they DO have a certain odor to them. We have been noticing that more and more over the last few years.
I am certainly NOT saying this is the cause of the odor coming from your dogs mouth, however, I would schedule an exam at your vet office. It could be anything from an infected tooth to cancer, so instead of getting yourself all worked up... let a vet check her out.
I just wanted to comment on how lucky your dog is to have you. You seem like an excellent owner. It is seldom to see owners on here who actually bring their dogs for yearly dentals. And as far as the fatty masses... don't be concerned... labs are notorious for these fatty deposits.

I recently had to have my dog put to sleep, the cause was cancer, he had lumps on his skin and a foul smell from his mouth. My advice is get your dog to the vets as soon as you can, treatment may be possible. It may not be the same, I hope not, but better to be safe than sorry. I hope things go ok for you.

try brushing her teeth and washing around her mouth with a cloth.
my shih-tzu sometimes throws up bile. when he does his breath is sour smelling and it won't go away until i wash him.
if it still stinks after washing then take your dog to the vet as it could be internal infection of some type.
good luck.

My parents have 2 mini-dashunds and one of them has the stinkiest breath! The vet said its coming for his stomach and there really isn't anything they can do about it.
But, if you're not comfortable with the response from your vet, you should ask him to recheck or take your pet to another vet for a second opinion.

This is very important, please hear me out. I had a dog that died at 13 with the same symptoms. I didn't get him diagnosed until it was too late, His blood sugar was so high they couldn't get it to register. I'm a nurse it makes me so mad at myself that I didn't recognize the symptoms. He had diabetes. Does your dog urinate frequently? Loss of bladder control? Unsteady on his feet? Drink lots of water? Please get his blood sugar checked before it is too late....Dogs who are diabetic take insulin the same as adults with diabetes. His blood sugar should be less than 120. Please get it checked...don't make the same mistake I did!!!! Request blood work to include a glucose check, you have to request it because it's not routinely done.

several lumps and bad breath?
I'd book this dog in for a vet check immediately, its the only way you'll know exactly what it is. But the lumps are a worry. If the vet isn't open, then call up your emergency vet for advice or take her in. good luck
