i have 2 (boys) 6 month old pit pupps 'n one of them is very aggressive and mean with the other one. They got in a fight last night 'n one of them got bit in the eye really bad and he's having eye surgery today..I feel extremely guilty, i will get them both neutered in the next few days, but I don't know if that will help with their aggressiveness. I don't want to keep them separated because I don't want to see them tied out in a leash or in a kennel or something cuz i know that's not right. I just need some advice, training classes, I don't know, just anything that will help me and my pups..I'm very desperate and overwhelmed!

AKC and Collie Club of America sources only tell prospective owners how great collies are. I need some more balanced information. I'm not so much interested in individual anecdotes. Please no "my brother's best friend's hairdresser had a collie that..." stories. But I would appreciate documented sources on the breed in general, particularly temperament and health issues.

I'm considering getting a dog but I do not want a puppy nor do I want a old dog. Are shelters okay? I'm a bit concerned about finding the right one in there.

My maltese puppy died after only having him seven days. He had an upset tummy and despite a Vet visit and some medication, he sadly passed away this morning. The vet seems perplexed as to why my pup died, he was horrible and I will never use him again. As a new puppy owner, I brought him to the Vet out of concern for vomiting and diarrhea and he chalked it up to stress in a new home and gave me medicine to calm his tummy. Now that I have a break in bawling my eyes out, my concern is turned to my two cats. I bleached down the floors. My cats seem fine, should I be concerned something may be transferred to them?

i browse through all these questions on animals and i wonder how did dogs survive in the wild? Where did all this knowledge come from with breeding dogs/cats? How did they treat thierselves when they became ill? Are we being ripped off from all of the medicines and treatments they have for dogs? Dogs dont need outfits why do we allow the stores to sucker us into buying clothes? Who made up house pets? Are tiny tea-cups/miniatures man-made- Is that why they cant uphold thier natural purposes like being able to survive in the cold weather? I had this discussion with my boyfriend and it made sense to me, he think i baby my poms too much. But I still understood his point because how did they make it w/o humans input?

that if they don't keep there dogs regularly dewormed I don't want my kids near them or in their yard? I just found out they don't keep their dogs dewormed regularly or have them checked regularly on top of they don't have them up to date on their shots. I don't want my kids to get worms because they won't take care of their dogs. I don't know what to do this bothers me. I also don't want my puppy around their dogs so she doesn't get sick or worms. Should I be upset that they don't take responsibility for their dogs? How do i tell them this?

My dog is a male bichon frise and for the past several months, when urinating, takes a long time to uinate and I can see him straining to urinate. I think I see some red liquid coming out, when he strains to urinate. I want to know if this is a serious problem, if neccesary I want to avoid going to the vet.
