Unfortunately, it sounds like you have no choice. Unless there is a doggy day care in your area.

Your pups will be fine in the bedroom....just dog-proof it...ie bitter apple spray on anything chewable...and alot of toys....Frozen yoghurt in small kongs? A water bottle with the cap off (and the round ring off) fill it with doggy treats and leave it on the floor to figure out how to get the stuff out...

It seems like a long time to be in a room. They will survive. Please don't have any guilt on your part.

It is important to have the fire inspection and chimney insp...this is for ALL of your safety.

Your a good-mom...and they will still love you at the end of the week!

I think shutting them in the bedroom with a note on the door for the inspectors to NOT open the door.. and put a swatch of tape on the door at the opening edge to remind them to not open the door would be the best thing for two little ones like yours. If you have a trusted family member who could watch them, that would be a plus too. I had to leave a pet alone all day and while she could eat and drink on her own, I had a problem inventing a potty area and used a childs little plastic wading pool with a little entry U cut in the side. I lined it with papers and it worked very well.

do you leave them home all day in the apartment? if so, it's not a big deal to leave them in your bedroom. they still have room to run around . they may be a little tense if they hear someone in the apartment. if you are afraid they may tear things up while you're away, then put them in crates. they will be fine. i would do this rather than put them in a kennel and them be out of their element.
see if you can get EXACT days that they will be there. tell them that this is important to you and your dogs. then maybe you don't have to do it all week, but just the days they are supposed to be there.
They should allow for special cirrcumstances

one possibility is a dog sitter for a few days. Ask the manager of your apartment when your chimney and fire extinguisher are being checked. Then you know when you can keep your dogs in and out and when to give them to a pet sitter. I hope this helps!!!!!

Yeah you should have made better plans and had them crate trained, for reasons just like this. Have someone come and stay with the dogs this week until everyone has come and gone. Or
take them to day care this week so that there isn't a chance that they could get let out of the apartment while no one is home to watch them. Or buy a crate and give it a try...

depending on the bathroom size, it wont hurt them to be left locked up. Its better than having your office got mad at you if the guys complain about not being able to get the job done because your dogs are loose or they run out.

They wont like it but its for the best. Dont worry ok.

I think you should provide them with toys, bedding, food, water and anything else to make them comfortable. Try this one of the days and if you come home and they seem very stressed out, find a dog sitter. There are doggie daycares all around that provide grooming, feeding, playtime and attention.

I would ask the manager if he/she could narrow it down a bit so you wouldn't have to keep them confined all week. He/she may be able to tell you what day they will be there.
They are asking you to confine them to protect themselves as well as your dogs. If they open the door and your dog should get out it is not their responsibility to go after it. You should have someone to watch your dogs or confine them.

You can always take them to a doggie daycare place. There are many places that do this and as long as your dogs are up on all their shots they should be okay. Many are cage free and as long as the dogs are okay with other dogs they usually have a lot of fun at these places.

they should be able to tell you exactly when they are coming. if you can get someone to stay with the dogs so that they can put them in the room when the people get there. technically no one can enter the appartment without you or someone as your representitive there.
