1. Is it safe to spray regular perfume on a Chi?

2. Are there training classes at Petco or Petsmart? If so, are they any good?

3. If I ask the breeder I'm going to buy the puppy from to make the mommy dog sit or lay on a hand towel (to get her scent on it to relax the puppy on the way home) while I look at the pups, will he usually agree, or will he look at me like I'm crazy?

4. What can I expect the first night?

5. Best crate for travel?

6. Dog litter. Do you suggest it, or should I just take her out once every few hours to go potty?

7. What stores are dog-friendly?

Alrighty ... this is sort of a fun question. A designer dog is considered something that is desired by humans. But a designer dog is a mix between one ... two ... three breeds. I call this sort of dog a mutt. What has our society come to when a dog is breed from a purebreed unto something else? Why is there marketing on this sort of dog? Why is it called a designer dog?

I currently have two cats, about 3-4 years old. Not now, but later my Girlfriend and I want to get two husky's (as graduation gifts to ourselves - from college) We live in Texas now, but plan on moving to Colorado, Utah, or somewhere else cold before getting them. My question is this,
Based on the books we have be reading, mixing Huskys and cats is not nescessarily a good idea. But other sources say raise the Husky puppy (we plan on getting them the day they have been weaned from the Mother) with the cats, and the Husky will see the cat as an "exception" to the Kill all small furry creatures instinct.

Also, will a husky attack a chihauha or something because of its size?

Just curious, trying to figure out if the Husky is the right breed for us!

Basically, I am a female living alone in a big city. I love animals and would never do anything to harm them, So please don't think I want to fight my pitbull. I condemn people who do that, they are sick and should not be allowed to become pet owners. As it is, these loving dogs already have a bad rep, but anyway I just want her to be buff and stocky and look mean, she is a sweetheart already!!! Any suggestions, on what I can feed her? And do you all think its a good idea to crop her ears? Thanks

my dog is almost 13 and in pretty good health as far as all her organs are concerned. She can't control her bladder or bowel movements. I don't think it is fair to put her down since her bloodwork is fine and she eats everyday and still plays. Is there any medicine to give her?

She seems to be acting like she feels fine... but all along her stomach and even a little in her ears the skin is broken almost like chicken pox in humans... it's not that dense on her skin though... but there are several red spots that almost look like broken skin...

this just occured in the past day and I just had her vacinated... I've heard of other dogs that have skin breakouts after vacinations before and maybe it's just that simple?

anyone familiar with this sort of thing? I was going to call the vet tomorrow and ask him anyway... but I was just wondering?

I read somewhere that onions were harmful to dogs, and garlic strikes me as being quazi-onion-esque. However I also once new a retired veteranry assistant who claimed it was wonderful for their coats and skin. (I have, however seen this same veteranary assistant smoke crack though so I'm not so ssure I trust her opinion.)
