She is scratching and biting and by the looks of it, it is definetly NOT FLEAS. She looks like she has a bad case of dandruff on her fur, but we have seen some clear white like bugs crawling on her. They are attached to the hair follicles but they seem to be biting her and she is scratching and biting her legs, back and face throughout the day. She also has a foul odor over her body and I have read that dogs who suffer from mites carry a bad odor. Otherwise she is healthy, eating and playing well. I know there has to be a home remedy for this one.

My family adopted a 7 month old beagle. We started crated training. We crate the puppy when our family is out of the house. Which is M-F 7:30am - 2:15pm. We take him out to piddle before he is crated...but, when he is crated...he howls, and cries...When we got home yesterday he deficated all over the crate. We have 5 members of the family who shower him with attention when he is not crated. I would also start to crate him at night, we woke this morning to find piddle in the living room, and on my sons bed. Any suggestions to make this training easier? HELP!!

i bought a puppy last month at canton trade days, who didnt have papers the breeder said she forgot them at home i believed her since she was selling a lot of other breeds with papers just the chihuahuas(what i bought) did not have the papers because they were her sister's in laws who was pregnant and could not go sell them herself. she gave me this chinese story about how she left the puppies papers under her labtop she meant to take with her to watch movies... she promised she would have the papers sent thto me that same day she called her sis in law on the phone and told her she left the papers at home which really made me believe her. She gave all her info and her sister in law's so i believed she was telling me the truth well it has been a month and stil no papers, i have called her several times and she's either not there or doesnt answer. i am very mad and dont know what to do i paid $300 for this dog and he's not worth it w/no papers. what can i do??? plz help

Hi I have two basset hounds both 7 years of age. I am going to start them on agility training on Thursday. Does any one have any experience of basset hounds at agility? Any in your classes? Or do you take your own basset?
I just want them to have fun.
I know my female basset with love it but I’m not sure about the male.
Thanks

My neapolitan mastiff is constantly scratching, licking himself and biting on his nails. I can't sleep sometimes because its loud and constant. My next step after "yahoo answers" is the vet. But until then, any remedies how to make him stop? I have another (brother) that doesn't do any of the mentioned things.

I'd really like to get a puppy but I'm not sure I could give it the attention it needs and deserves. My sister is at home half of the day but I'm away for about 8 hours.

How do most people that work and have dogs manage? What do you do to keep your dog occupied during the day?

I have a French bulldog who LOVES to eat. I live in Europe, so I can take her just about anywhere with me (restaurants, bars, coffee shops, etc.) and she's very well socialized. The problem when we're out is that she stares at people eating until they feel guilty/sorry for her and then they end up throwing her a piece of something to eat. She's definitely not a starved dog, but she acts that way! What can I do to try and control/manage her voracity for food? And how can I get her to not accept food from strangers? Other than this "nuance" re: food she's a very well behaved dog.

got my dog from a shelter 2 years ago. no history, but found pregnant and living on the streets. i spent a fortune on specialist trainer as she had predatory aggression, big problem as we had a cat. i hoped with time and a good home she would settle, but she is getting worse, she runs away all the time, escapes through windows, opens doors, slips her lead, she has become aggressive around other dogs. she is extremley hard work and after having my cat put to sleep recently i realise i havnt bonded with her like i have with dogs in the past, i am seriously thinking of rehoming her as im at my wits end. i am not inexperienced with dogs or training them, but nothing works with this one. everyone who knows us thinks we should rehome her as she is such a hard dog to look after, we get no pleasure from her. i know it sounds cruel and i would never see her hurt. do you think its best to rehome her?

We have a female pekinese and she is super aggresive and possesive.. The vet advised us to get another dog as it would help the existing one to calm down and behave. We got another pekinese female who is much younger but our pet refuses to except it and has stopped eating and being herself. she also looks very upset and sulky and has stopped playing around too. i know time will make a difference but what extra can i do to introduce them in a better way so they accept each other.?
