Bathing a dog should be done no more than once a month otherwise it will be detrimental to his coat and if he is a breed liable to shedding then excess bathing will accentuate this.
When using any dog shampoo for the first time use very sparingly in case the dog proves allergic to it. If bathing in your own bath then stand dog on old towel. This will save your bath from scratching and will also stop dog from sliding.Towel off excess water and dry with hair dryer.

1. Buy shampoo that is designed for dogs (human shampoo has a much different pH level which can harm your dogs skin). (Change into old clothes too.... doggy dirty water smells HORRIBLE....and can stain if it is dark enough)
2. Bring dog to bath tub/hose outside/doggy wash and lather up! Make sure not to get water in the ears, and remember to soap up all of your dog... no point washing only parts.
3. Rinse out well. Any soap that is left will only cause irritation for your animal.
4. Repeat if necessary.

OR

1. Bring dog to groomers, tell them what you want and pay them.
2. Pick up dog all clean at specified time.

Hope this helps!

Brush it regularly. You shouldn't have to bath it very often----- only if it gets into some thing smelly. Then you need a good dog shampoo. Bathing takes the oil out of the coat so it gets dirtier and you have to bath oftener so its better not to start. If the coat is in good condition its easier to keep clean. Think about the basics like diet and health. If he's muddy after a walk I use a shammy and warm water. often rubbing with a dry towel and then a brush is all that's needed

Put him/her in a lukewarm bath, wet the fur all over, use a special dog shampoo and or conditioner and put all over, avoid the eyes and inside the ears and mouth. Be careful with which shampoo you use as it might have allergies to certain ingrediants or sensitve skin, check with your vet to see which one he can recommend first. Clean eyes with eye ointment for dogs specially if it has runny ones. ears with cotton wool buds or sticks with a bit of water. TrIm the ear hair first and check for wax. you can brush its teeth, but id rather give it a bone for that.
Make sure your dog is fully dry by using old towels or a light blow-dryer depending which it prefers, you dont want it to have a cold. And after, a good long brush to get the knots out of the fur!

Yes, use a special dog shampoo to ensure that you don't irritate its skin. I can't wash my dog in a bath, but since she has a big plastic dog bed I take the covers out of that, put it in the garden, fill it with warm water from a bucket, and stand her in that to wash her with a clean cloth.

Buy a good dog shampoo and wash it in the bath, when the weather gets better wash it in the garden with a hose, my dog loves it. Be careful when buying shampoo as some dogs are prone to skin diseases.

Get a good dog shampoo, and put your dog in the tub. It's easiest to use the shower head (to pull it down and stuff), get them wet, shampoo them up, and rinse em off. Don't forget to dry them as well, and just a heads up, you're gonna get really wet doing it!
In the warmer seasons you can wash your dog outside in the backyard or whatever.

Hi,
I have a sprayer that connects on my tub spigot and you just wet your dog down real well and use a good dog shampoo. I also use conditioner on them. It is winter here so I have to dry them real well here and sometimes use my hair dryer.Mine like to run and dry off and roll on my rugs. Count on getting wet. Make it fun so your pup doesn't get scared of a bath.Watch his ears as you don't want to get water in them Hold them closed when you wet his head or put cotton in them.Good Luck

I bought my doggie a kiddies paddling pool. I fill it up with water and doggie shampoo and some of his favourite toys. We both have fun. He is a long haired border collie, so it's not the washing I worry about, it's the drying,it takes hours and he likes to dry himself by rubbing himself up and down the furniture. Have fun. Please try the paddling pool idea you can get in as well if you like.

Hi,

Make sure you are using a dog shampoo and not a human one.

Take a look at that link:
