Either my dog has mange or he is really shedding badly. If shedding is the issue then I can easily brush him and care for him but mange, I heard that is can take all the dogs hair of of them. What can I do to properly home treat my dog if he has mange? Is mange contagious to humans? Sorry for the stupid nieve questions. Just need to know answers right now. Am a Concerned pet owner. I know my next option would take him the the animal hospital. Any one with good, positive, influential, informative, and detailed answers, gets chosen and given the ten points. Thanks so much.

For some people who are not aware of the horrible positions most dogs are in at the county pounds...do some research on Google. Im assuming since we are all on the dog page, we love dogs...research "gas chambers" and "heartstick method", and see what you come up with...you'll be sickened if you love your dog or any dog at all.

So, I want to know what everyone's idea is on how to decrease the amount of animals being "dumped" daily at county pounds, to be put to "sleep" in a humane or even inhumane way?
I mean, it's horrible....absolutely insane, and I wanted to know some idea's of yours...I foster and volunteer for a rescue, and maybe some of your ideas can help us to become better at what we do..
So, tell me?

I've had Ra for almost four years now. He's a St. Bernard mix. We got him a playmate, Wilson, whose an English Bulldog two years ago. These past few days Ra's been fighting with Wilson. Wilsom just rolls on his back, but Ra just continues to bite him until I intervene. I had boarded over the weekend, and Wilson received several bite wounds the first night I was gone. It was also reported to me that Ra charged the kennel door anytime someone would walk by. Ra's a wonderful dog usually. He's never shown any signs of aggression toward me or the household cats. I don't know what to do besides seperate the dogs permanently.

It's a male, im guessing between 6-10 weeks old, timid, not too of a small puppy but not big either, he has brown fur with flecks of gold or orange through it, he has a slight triangled shape face but not too pointy, ears kinda like a boxer, and a small patch of white on his chest. I am thinking it might be a breed thats crossed with a staffordshire bull terrier but it doesnt look too much like one so must be more of another breed like a poinsetter or mongrel or auzzie cattle dog, i dont know???

My 12 years old dog is getting old and he is having some health problem. His ear has balloon up and I bought it to the vet and they told me it will cost $900 for this procedure. Is this a reasonable price? Can anyone recommend a good vet for a reasonable fee in the SF, CA area? He also has this little blood bubble near his butt. Can this be cancer? I know it is a lot of question but I want to make the right decision to help my dog feel better. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have 2 boy pits and they been fighting. I really don't want to get rid of them. I want to know if there's people out there who own 2 or more dogs, and that actually get along with eachother. If so, how were the dogs trained in order for them to get along and not get in fights..?

I have been using ROYAL CAINE for my puppy. Plus I cook for him when I have time. I want to know if anyone has heard of this food. I understand it is new on the Market. I also understand that companies change there ingredince. So I am going to stay with one company, and asome that their food will remain the same quality. Although I think the quality of food is improving as we become more aware. I am going to buy what every is best for my dog.

I am thinking of taking this dog in but me nor the person who originally took it in know what breed(s) he could be. I am thinking a Straffordshire Terrier but it could be a few other possibilities. The person who has it now believes it is under a year old. Any help would be appreciated. Here's a picture of him....

I have been wanting a dog for 21 years, and I have always wanted to adopt an adult pit bull. Everyone told me this was a terrible idea, 1. because pit bulls are 'mean' and 2. because you don't know the background of an adult pit bull. WELL, I adopted a 1 year old pit bull a few weeks ago, and she is absolutely the best. She is soo sweet, she loves everyone, even my cats. I am so glad I didn't listen to 'them', and I went and got my pit bull! She has even changed my parents minds about pit bulls. My mom has always been terrified of pit bulls, but today Cadence was sitting in my mom's Lap! giving her Kisses! And my mom was gladdly accepting them. This is something I honestly never thought I would see.

Tell me about your pit bull. Has he/she changed people's minds about pit bulls?

I've been currently using the brand CloudStar on my Pomeranians for a while now, and I noticed just a while ago, that the back of the bottle claimed that humans could safely use it as well. If so, would it be okay to use just regular human shampoo on my little 'sisters'?

I do understand that both human and dog shampoos probably contain different ingredients, but would using the former be harmful in any way to my Poms?

It'd be great to find out - I've never really been very fond of the scent of dog shampoos, and it'd be nice, I guess, to have them smell like lilacs instead. ;b Even so though, I wouldn't want to hurt them, especially ignorantly.

Oh, and also, if it's not recommended to do so, would a baby shampoo be more sufficient to the job then?

Then someone said they saw him close to my house. Now they called sayin he has been spotted being carried by some woman. I have left posters up but she does not call. What should i do? My dog has epileptic seizures and i am afraid that he might get an attack and they won't know what to do. ANY IDEA WHAT I CAN DO OTHER THAN JUST POSTING UP POSTERS?
