I think it is just because in your last question you said, "I cannot afford a vet." But asking for help here is better than nothing.
I'm sure the vet will see you first thing in the morning once they hear how sick your pup is. And, most caring vets will allow you to pay in installments if you can't afford to pay the entire bill right away.

When you state in your question that you can't afford a vet, it does tend to make a person wonder why you have a pet to begin with. Providing proper and necessary care is an important part of owning a pet of any kind. Vomiting and diarrhea can kill a dog rather quickly without proper care, or any animal, including people for that matter. You are lucky he is still alive at this point, some dogs will die within 24 hours with these symptoms. You need to get fluids into your dog, a little bit at a time until he can keep it down and you need to get him to a vet ASAP. . At least a couple teaspoons each hour around the clock can help to save him, but it is really necessary to get him to a vet to find out the cause, and get him the treatment he needs, which is not cheap. It could very well be parvo, even if your dog has been vaccinated, sometimes, even vaccinated dogs do get it and die from it, even with treatment. Most vets will have a 24 hour number they can be reached at, even though they are not open 24 hours a day. Many will even offer you a discount if you do not have much income. I'm sure that you love you dog, or you would not have come here looking for help, but you need to know that you can be charged for animal cruelty if you do not try to get him the care he needs. A CNA that I worked with was arrested and put in jail because her dog died from parvo and she did not take him to the vet because she couldn't afford to. As a rsult of htese charges, she also lost her job and her income to support her children, because it gave her a criminal record and her CNA was suspended. I am sure that this is not what you wanted to hear, but it is the truth and something you need to face if you care at all about you pet.
I just lost a dog to parvo who had been vaccinated and was taken to the vet within 4 hours of the onset of symptoms and was treated aggressively. Unfortuately he was not meant to live, but I know he was at least given a fair chance.

Hi, I do not know what ? you asked or anything, but we live in a VERY small town that is two hours away from the closest twenty four hour pet hospital. Luckily, our new vet (well,he has been here for four years now) has his office phone set up so that after office hours,a call goes to his home. It is very hard if you live in a rural/isolated area to have access to 24 hour vet care. We are always careful to not abuse the privilege of being able to reach him by not calling unless it is a serious emergency. Some vets will have an answering machine with a number you can call that is a 24 hour pet clinic. We have called such a number before simply for advice (we were afraid our cat licked Frontline off his sister,it turned out he was fine). It can be scary when there is no vet service available to go to. One thing we have done also is buy both a cat home vet book and a dog home vet book. They are very helpful as far as basic first aid and reference material. Good Luck and do not be too discouraged, there are some here who automatically assume you will not take your cat to the vet,but then I can kinda see their point because some people ask ?s about things that their pet has been doing for days and what should they do. Example: My cat has been vomiting blood for three days, what should I do? I honestly saw that on here before. That is a WAY diff situation than having to wait until the next day to visit a vet. Props to you for being a responsbile, caring pet owner, there seem to be too few of us out there.

Here is your last question:What makes a dog to quit eating...and vomiting yellow secretions...please help?
my german shepard just lies around and has no spunk and she hasn't eaten in a few days and her bowels are runny...I cannot afford a vet and really need to know what I can do for her...
You say straight out on the question that you can't afford the vet. Your dog needs vet care today.
If there are no 24 hour vets in your area, the regular vets will have after hours emergency numbers. Look in the yellow pages, if they aren't listed there called the clinic anyway. Either the answering maching will give you an option to connect to the vet, or they'll give you the after hours number to call. And yes the vet will get out of bed and meet you at the clinic.
The longer you leave your dog in this condition the worse she's going to get, and the harder whatever she has is going to be to treat. If this has been going on for a few days why didn't you have her seen today? It was Monday after all. Last I checked vets clinics are open on Monday, and if your dog is in this condition they will pencil you in.
Either get your dog to vet, or turn her over to someone who will. The internet is not a veterinarian. No one here can diagnose your pet. To do so would not only be dangerous for your pet but illegal as well.

Nobody assumed anything that is what you said,"I can not afford a vet", you did not mention 24 hr vet hospitals. No one can diagnose your dog's symptoms over the Internet. Even if some tried how will you know who is right and who is wrong? Home remedies can be dangerous, are you willing to take that chance? You are complaining about unsympathetic comments but here you sit in judgment of those who gave you answers that were in the best interest of your dog and I read through the answers that were given to your previous question and they were all well meaning I think you were just upset because no one gave you a specific answer and all told you a vet was needed.
YOUR WELCOME.

Amazing I went back to your last question and NO BODY mentioned a 24 hr vet hospital! And several attempt at helpful advice with not much "can't afford a vet don't have a pet" except several "we can't diagnose over the internet" unfortunately he sound sick enough you are not going to manage without a vet. I'm sorry to say that just the truth....

I didnt see or read your last question, however if there is no 24 hour vet then surely there is a 24 hour vet hospital that you can call from yellow pages etc. Much better to get their advice than anyones on the net. Unfortunately we dont always like the answers we are given when posting a question. text can be mis interpreted many many ways.
I reccomend you call via telephone and ask for advice from someone who knows what it is they are talkig about and follow their instructions til you can get to a vet.
Good luck, hope your dog is ok

i looked ahead at your other post, and you said in it that your dog had been sick for a couple of days and that you couldn't afford a vet. you didn't say it had just started happening or anything. you said flat out you can't afford a vet. having a pet is like having a child. if your child didn't eat for a couple of days and was throwing up but you didn't have insurance what would you do? mine would be at the doctors no matter what. the same with my dog and cats. actually, one of the cats has been when we couldn't afford it. you were the one who said you couldn't afford the vet, no one else pulled it out of thin air

In your last question you said you could not afford a vet so why are you now saying the ones that answered you "assumed" you could not afford a vet?
Copied from your last question...
"my german shepard just lies around and has no spunk and she hasn't eaten in a few days and her bowels are runny...I cannot afford a vet and really need to know what I can do for her... "
No one assumed it, YOU said it.

Some people have never been there. It is much easier to sit in judgement, than to actually help..Helping takes work, and judgement just takes a big mouth.
Just pray that those that are judgemental never have to learn what it is like..to be in that position.
So often, the ones that tell others they shouldn't have a pet, are the same ones that tell an owner to 'rub their nose in the poop/pee" to potty train..or hit it on the nose, etc.
I think they should learn how to train a dog before they actually get one..After all, learning to train is absolutely free! Of course, they probably think that they already know...sigh
