Dont know if this will help, but we have a Rottweiler and in the issue of "Training Secrets for Rottweilers" magazine in the Popular Dogs Series we are currently reading, there is an article about carting, both as hobby, sport, and exercise The article is fairly long dealing with the benefits of carting, etc. But the topic of how to build a cart/measure the dog for building the cart, etc was mentioned. At the end of the article these contacts are listed for getting info on beginning carting/carting questions. As I said, this was about Rotts, but you might find it helpful,I dont know,I have not checked any of the sites out yet. GOOD LUCK

Cool! Always wanted to try carting. If you go to www.sleddogcentral.com, they would probably have some links for folks who do carting as well as sledding.
