I have 3 of each gender, all living in my home. All extra large dogs, except for one small..They all get along..The key is being the pack leader, so they don't have to decide who is top dog..because they know that YOU are... It isn't their choice to make.

I got 2 unaltered males, and a female. The first one, Cujo was 2 years when I got the second, Bruno, a 6 month old pop. When the Bruno matured they started fighting, this is completely normal since they are trying to establish a hierarchy in their pack. I wouldn’t worry too much about it if it is not serious fighting where one gets hurt, but u got to be the pack leader and u got to stop the behavior. Some people say that it is not good to yell at them when they are fighting, but it does do the trick 4 me, just one stern yell and they usually stop, remember u gat to dominate them, u may not fell nice about it but they need to be subjugated so u do not have problems in the future. Some times u get dogs that just can’t stand each other, this is usually because both are dominant and neither wants to give in, u can brake them out of this behavior, but it takes a lot of time and effort on your part. If the behavior gets worse, u may want to consult an expert, usually a dog breather, trainer or ur vet will be able to help u.
Good luck.

We have a male greyhound and a male black lab, they get along like two peas in a pod. Pit bulls on the other hand, unfortunately, and yes I know there a nice ones I've met them, but they are bred with the fighting gene, neutered? May help but these guys should be a one dog only place.

I have 5 dogs, 3 girls and 2 boys. There are no problems between the girls at all and none between the boys and girls. The 2 boys do grumble at one another but nothing serious (besides we interfer all the time to stop them from going any further). Mine are chihuahuas but you should be able to have groups of any dogs (they are pack animals after all).
BTW are your males neutered? I think that helps a lot. You should watch The Dog Whisperer though because he helps dogs live together peacefully all the time. Both dogs need to see you as the leader (not them) and they aren't allowed to be dominate to you or each other. Walking them together (by your side with you as pack leader) will help a lot too.

I have 2 female and 2 male Great Danes. Everyone gets along well, though the girls have had a few spats. They know I'm boss, and that they aren't allowed to fight. A wave of the flyswatter reminds them.
The most important thing is that they are all neutered and spayed.

Pits can be dog aggressive - after all they were originally bred to fight other dogs and this drive is strongest in males. Unless socialized with other dogs early and consistently, it can sometimes be difficult to have two male pits in the same household. The other poster is right, they must absolutely be neutered to reduce aggression.

I have 2 Siberian Huskies, both females. They get along well for the most part, but they do occasionally have their little "tiffs" with each other. Mostly minor things. Once in a while, one will want to play and wrestle and the other won't. The one that wants to play will egg the other one on until she gets tired of it and she will snap (however they rarely actually bite each other - more to warn the other one that it's time to back off) at her.

i have four dogs. two female pekes, and a male pug and lab. they all get a long fine, but they are all nuetered. if they are nuetered then they need to be, or else they will always fight. but if they are then a little time and patiance. dont encourage them by feeding in the same bowl an treat the the same. if one gets more attention the other will fight worse and get picked on harder, never favor the other

pits do not have to be neutered to be safe around people like said above they must not have experience with pits..

I have two male black lab mixes and they get along great, I think it depends on how long youve had the first dog, how dominate they are and if they are neutered

Make sure you are feeding them in separate areas, and that yummy dog treats are not given to them when they are together.
As previous posters have said, make sure they are neutered.
Find out exactly what is at the root of their fighting, and work from there.
