The dogs with 'hair', rather than 'fur' will have less odor..such as a Maltese, Poodle, Lhasa Apso, Bichon, Shih tzu, Papillon, etc.
However, a properly fed, properly groomed Pomeranian should not be smelly..

they dont have a strong oder. you just have to keep them clean you are supposed to bathe the average dog once to twice a week. you do however want to make sure that you potty train it though because pet urine can become a problem if you do not potty train your pet. there may be a wet dog smell present after bathing this can be easily taken care of with some of the wonderful products that are available. they have dog cologne great shampoos they even have dog tooth paste. before you get a dog do some research they are hard work but they can really help you cope through alot they are mans best friend. I have a pomeraniun lhapso apso mix hes a pretty good dog he dont smell bad but he does get jealous and upset sometimes if i dont take him with me some of the things he does when he is mad at me is he will use the bathroom infront of the front door so i step in it when i come in and he will get in the trash but this can be prevented if you kennel train them heres some good sites for you. Goodluck with your new pom pom!!!! here are also some sites you may want to look at before getting a dog enjoy :-)

All dogs need bathing and grooming on a regular basis. If you aren't willing to do it or pay for it to be done, you don't want any dog, they all smell when they get wet and they get wet when it rains and they go outside. What makes this a question, you've never been around dogs before? Everyone knows dogs smell, sorry but they do. Get a cat, they aren't quite as smelly unless they have to use a litter box. Maybe a fish...you have to clean the tank. Maybe a pet rock...yeah that's it.

Pomeranians are long haired dogs, and long haired dogs tend to smell more than short haired dogs. Long hair dogs need extra grooming & brushing. In the winter, a bath once a month is good. In the summer, a bath every 2 weeks should be good. Brush long haired dogs at least every other day, and regular grooming is required.

Are you insane? Why would a pomeranian smell more than any other dog?
You must brush this breed at least every other day, and take them to the groomers monthly. Like all dogs, they will get smelly if dirty.
