I live in Toronto Canada. I have a beautiful staffordshire terrier/ american red nose mix. He is very well trained and loving. He is good with kids and plays with my girlfriends minature australian sheppard all the time. He now lives with my parents they are old and cant handle him anymore (he is only 3 and very playfull) My apartment does not accept pets. I would move but the rent is really cheap. The humane society has no room and they love putting pitbulls to sleep. CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE!! (he is neuterd also)

Pitbulls have been outlawed in Ontario, so no shelter is going to take him, unless it is to put him to sleep. They have no choice in the matter, it is the law.

Contact a pitbull rescue society (google), which have been taking pitbulls out of the province and finding them homes where they can live legally without danger.

The Humane society in Toronto does NOT put pitbulls to sleep. They are strong advocates for pitbulls.

My suggestion is to speak to them...or call the local Pitbull Rescue group in Toronto. If he is a friendly dog and has a good history they will take him.

Call the humane society or better yet, bring him to be assessed. They will put you in touch with a local group.

unfortunately, you are right about wanting to put him to sleep. I too have a Staffordshire, rotti mix and he is wonderful. If you can't find somewhere in Canada, put him on the computer, and maybe he could go to a shelter in the US! My friend adopted her boxer from Canada and it was quite an easy process! Make sure they are a reputable shelter though, some people hear pit and think they want it, but in the wrong hands it could be a bad situation! Good Luck!

I observed this.. and have not any expertise on the difficulty of legality in Canada, yet i desired to assert I completely consider you. i do no longer think they're that aggressive on their very own accord.. that's the horrid nature of persons who created that attractiveness for them. My sister has a dalmation.. who've additionally gotten a bad attractiveness.. yet he's the superb canines i've got ever seen.. he's loving and he hogs the mattress lol.. Dalmations have been given their undesirable attractiveness because of the fact human beings have been breeding them inappropriately and the genetics have been inflicting them to be particularly aggressive.. it in basic terms wasn't organic in basic terms like canines scuffling with isn't organic.. those human beings could feel embarrassment approximately themselves

contact hug a bull and they can help you place your dog. Ontario has a ban on pit bulls so you'll probably have to place it elsewhere.
