Call a rescue group or your local humane society. Do NOT advertise as free to good home. The pup may end up in a horrible situation. Rescues and humane groups interview prospective families for the best home available.

I'm sorry but I hope this situation has forced you to learn that you must think about the future.
Tomorrow does not take care of itself. It's totally unfair to a dog or cat to be brought into your home and be kicked to the curb because you can't keep it.It has feelings too you know.Think about how confused and disappointed it will be when you have to walk away. And when you do find it a place to be DO NOT get another animal until you are in your own home not a rental. And you can afford to keep that home.
I've been in your shoes and it sux!But unlike you I lived in my car or campgrounds with the dog until I found a place that would accept the animal. It was hard but I did'nt give up part of my family and think only about myself.I kept on looking until I found a place that accepted pets.I paid outrageous pet deposits that I never got back altho my animals never did any damage. And I did so happily because my family was complete.
Children are not disposable when it becomes inconvenient to keep them so why do humans feel that pets are?
Offer your landlord a huge pet deposit. If that does'nt work then look for a place you CAN keep the dog.But if you insist on re-homing it then put an ad in the paper and post it on every bulletin board you can find in public places.
When people call answering your ad do not ask them to come see the dog right away.Explain that you want to place the dog in the best possible home where it will stay for life.Ask if they own their home or rent.If they rent dismiss them.If they own the home then get an address.Ask which vet they use and get a phone number for the vet.Drive by the house. If theirs 20 kennels in the yard with 5 dogs in each one you don't want your dog there. If the place looks alright to you then call the vet.Ask if they know this person.Do they come in for regular visits with their pets? What condition were the pets in when seen?If this is a first time pet owner then ask for references from family and friends. And call them all!
If everything checks out and you approve then call the person back and invite them to come meet the dog.If the dog does not like the person then keep looking. If it does then let it go with your blessing and take comfort in the fact that you've done your best to provide for the dog.

You will need to be very careful when giving him to someone. You don't want him to end up being fought or used as a bait dog do you? Call around to local rescue and PRAY one has a spot open and would be willing to take in the dog. And his "papers" you might as well throw in the trash.. .they are worth nothing he is a mixed breed dog not a pedigree. Being a mix of those 2 breeds it will be very hard to find him a good home and may take some time. If you can't wait that long and can't find a rescue to take him then do him a big favor and take him to your vet and hold him while you have him pts.

Hi, I agree with 'W'. Another point is that this breed mix might well attract the wrong attention for potential illegal dog fighting use, so it's extra important that you go through official channels with a dog rehoming charity like the RSPCA or Canine Defence League. Good luck.

I got my yorkie from an add in the newspaper.Of course I paid for him.The lady who I bought him from turned out to be great, she still calls me every now and then to check on the dog.She said something about giving puppies away:Never give people a puppy for free because they will not appreciate it.I thought about it and I believe she's right. So I think you should sell him.Do not give him away like that.If you don't want to sell your dog I think you should take him to a shelter. That's different than putting an add in the newspaper that says "free dog".good luck anyway!

Take him to your local animal shelter and they'll find him a good home. Or you can put an ad in the papers and sell him
