You can try adding a tablespoon of wet food to his dry food if you haven't already. If he needs to eat now, you can always grill up some chicken breast just to get him some nutrition for the moment. Sometime dogs just don't like certain brands or they get sick of the brand and begin to loose interest and out of starvation eat only small amounts. (I own a very picky dog). A few brands that my dog scarfs down are "Royal Canine," & "Solid Gold" for dry foods, and I have to add a tablespoon of wet food for him. A healthy good brand is Merrick. (these brands can be found at a pet supply store and slightly more expensive, but way worth it if you're dog is going to be healthier longer and like the taste better). These are the ones I use, but if I knew more about what breed you have, and it's age, and what you're trying to feed it, I might be about to help you out more. MY ONLY CONCERN is if you have a new puppy and it's not eating. check the color of its gums and make sure they're pink in color and not white. If they are white, the dog need to eat immediately so cook something like chicken up, and mix a little karo syrup in its water to it some sugar.

It helps if you put the dogs food out at a certain time every day. Just put only the recommended amount of food in the bowl. Don't let it have access to the food all day long. All it will do is eat a little here and there.
If your dog doesn't finish just start with little amounts and the increase them each time.
I have a chihuahua and when I left his food out all day he would get him a little mouth full and take it to the living room. He did this pretty much all day. Some dogs are different though.
You could also add a little dog gravy to entice it, but it may get hooked and wont eat the regular food. Just try a little every now and then.
Hope that helps

I put out my dog's food each morning at the same time. She eats when she wants to - sidenote, that she brings her food to us in her mouth so we watch her eat, SO cute!... She doesn't overeat and I've never worried about her undereating unless she seems off, which is when I will take her to the vet. If the dog's temperment is normal, you shouldn't worry too much. If you think he's off, take to the vet. You may also want to try a different type of food - slowly integrating it into his diet by mixing with the old food to prevent stomach problems. The problem I have with enticing the food is that it becomes habit. You don't want the dog not eating because he is expecting treats.

You cant force your dog to eat food, maybe you can encourage it my sitting with it and offering it food with praise however other than that you cant. As long as your dog is drinking plenty it should be fine.
Is your dog really eating little, if your worried a trip to the vet would be wise.
