okay so i have a lab collie mix, and shes pretty old.. about 12 id say.. she has a lot of medical problems, but she takes one pill a day and she is usually okay.. shes very skiidish though. i just dropped her off at my mothers house(who she knows well and likes) but my sisiter called and said she looks like she is almost shivering a littl eb it and has been hiding under a table.. do you think she is just nervous because my mom is off at work right now or do you think something could really be wrong??

Almost shivering? She's probably ok. Like you said she's old and skittish and now out of her usual environment. Perhaps, you can start bringing her to your mom's when you visit there so she'll have a chance to start being at home in the surroundings. You can leave her with your mom while you make short trips to the store and what have you. Then when you have to be away for a good while she should be adjusted to your mom's home and she'll know you are coming back for her. I'd also suggest leaving something with your smell on it...an old blanket or sweatshirt maybe.

this could be reaction to a change in her regular routine. next time take something of yours( with your smell on it). that will make her feel like you are close to her . dogs noses are very sensitive. i work for a vet and when we board dogs we ask the owners to bring an old sweatshirt, or something of that nature for their dog. it helps. hope this helps you out

Your dog could be really close to you and may be starting to grow symptoms of anxiety.Your dog could have also been afraid when you left her there and thought you were never coming back.

My dog shivers when he is stressed. I would say that your dog is stressed and nervous about being in a different place without you.

probably a combo of things. missing you, missing her familiar surroundings, different temperature in your mom's house, stress. she probably feels safer under the table.
