1. Is it safe to spray regular perfume on a Chi?
2. Are there training classes at Petco or Petsmart? If so, are they any good?
3. If I ask the breeder I'm going to buy the puppy from to make the mommy dog sit or lay on a hand towel (to get her scent on it to relax the puppy on the way home) while I look at the pups, will he usually agree, or will he look at me like I'm crazy?
4. What can I expect the first night?
5. Best crate for travel?
6. Dog litter. Do you suggest it, or should I just take her out once every few hours to go potty?
7. What stores are dog-friendly?

1. I wouldnt spray your parfume on your Chi.. its not going to smell like it does on you.. infact dog chemistry is totally different than humans, I would suggest a Doggy parfume though, they sell them in the dog washing section in petsmart
2. Yes Petco and Petsmart both have puppy and dog training.. they seem to work okay, I took my oldest Chi to one just t get her to be social with other dogs and be friendly and unafraid of other people.. it worked pretty well.
3. No, infact the breeder might be happy that you are showing so much love for your new puppy.. already worrying about its feelings and comfort.
4. The best place for a chi to sleep is with you.. they LOVE it.. right under the covers they will go.. but if you are not used to it then you need to be VERY careful.. you would never want to squish the lil guy. Also this is a goo method because you will know when it wakes up.. therefore you can take them out. But if you are a deep sleeper then you may end up with poop or pee on your bed ..ew.
5. Best for traveling is probably a small pet taxi.. or a semi hard/soft shell carrier
6. I hate litter.. and I think a Chi needs to get a little outside time now and again.. Its just not natural for a dog to go in a litter box, not their instinct.
7. All pet stores are friendly.. and usually most malls are okay with it too (seeing as they have pet stores inside usually)
Dont bring them into food stores or resturants no one wants hair in their food.. Anyway, hope this helps.. Chihuahuas are the best pets ever ( in my opinion) They will love you no matter what.. just allow them LOTS of lap time and lots of love! ;)

1. No, it could get into their pores. instead use dog perfume.
2.yes, I do believe there are. There are also training classes usually offered at your local vet.
3.The breeder should do whatever you want, you are paying for the puppy. If they want the money, they will shut up and keep the looks to a minimum. Just tell them it is to help the puppy get used to being alone and away from the mommy. They should understand that.
4.The first night is usually the hardest one. If you decide to have the puppy sleep in your bed, and don't wish to do it permanently. Best leave it to the first night and get a bed or crate for the following night. And try to sleep through the whimpers. It won't last forever. Better that then the dog peeing in your bed.
5. A crate that has a food and water container and also a place to fasten the seat belt through in the vehicle.
6.Best take the dog out to potty. To train the dog use potty papers.
7. Pet co, Pet smart. To find other Pet friendly stores look on the web.
Hope this has helped

1) you can but not recommended 2) yes their good if you're consistant 3) that's a great idea and every breeder wants an overcomforting owner for their pups 4) maybe a little whining- expect him in bed before morning lol mine always wind up there and they don't whine 5) i use a cat carrier with those slip proof cabinit liners on the bottom and a towell to cuddle on 6) dog litter they have trouble breathing sometimes outside in the cold 7) just about every pet store there is.

1 don't spray perfume on your dog they lick themselves it is not good for them
2There are dog training classes at petsmart they seem to be good
3explain why you want the mom dog to lay on a blanket and unless the owner is heartless he'll agree
4 a lot of whining unless you plan to let the dog sleep with you
5 I don't crate animals so I can't help you there
6 not litter, train the puppy to go outside from the start then you don't have to re train the dog later
7 petsmart is very pet friendly, lets you bring in your dog

6. its good if you are out all out but if you will only leave the house for like an hour than no
7. petco petsmart and other animal selling stores (nothing like target or walmart, they have too many human clothes and other non- animal related so they dont like it when you bring animals there, they wont let you in...)
sometimes at malls they might let you carry a chihuahua in your purse, but it depends on your mall

A dog should be trained on how to eat, walk with you, not to bark, potty training and sleep on its place etc. You can teach anything to your puppy, dogs get trained easily with some good instructions. If you want some good training tips visit https://tr.im/gHn00
If properly trained, they should also understand whistle and gesture equivalents for all the relevant commands, e.g. short whistle or finger raised sit, long whistle or flat hand lay down, and so on.
It's important that they also get gestures and whistles as voice may not be sufficient over long distances and under certain circumstances.
