Looking for the name.

This occurs when the cells were dividing and there should have been identical twin puppies, but something went wrong and only the one twin survived. The other twin was partly obsorbed by the surviving twin, but the leg is the only part left and it grew as part of the surviving puppy. This in no way will harm the puppy as it grew. The owner could have opted to have it removed, but choose not to for some reason. I'm trying to remember the term for this but at this time I can't.

despite the extra leg, it's still a dog. I'm not sure what you would call the extra leg though, if that's what you were asking.

Nope, but I've heard many different animals are like this, and sometimes, it can affect them and they do have to get surgery.
