Your dog will not need training in "how to pull the sled", she will need training on "how to STOP pulling the sled!"

My 14 year old husky pulled everything, sled, wagons, kids on skates..etc...

They love it...but put something on the sled...some weight, maybe 10lbs. This will give the sled traction and she will feel the 'pull' that she is craving.

Overtime, add more weight...she will surprise you with her ethusiasm.

Have fun!

Unfortunately 7 months is a little early for letting her pull any weight. You can damage her hips and other joints. You can probably start though with her pulling a leash/rope with a branch (nothing real big and heavy) attached to get her used to the noise of having something behind her. I have started this myself using a lid off a plastic tub, try different items and different surfaces to get her used to the different types of sounds. Once she is more developed you can start adding some weight. I have not been able to find any books to teach training, but if anyone else out there knows of any I'd be grateful to hear of them as well.

Well sled dogs have an internal extra butt so that helps them stay warm

She shouldn't be pulling too awful much at this point anyways. Very light weight stuff only at her age. Check out www.sleddogcentral.com for some ideas.
