im going to be doing this in my home. i have a big yard and 4 rooms in a basement.
i also have three dogs now. i allready talked to my township its ok.
heres some questions?
would you bring your dog to somones home? what if they had a two yr old child?
where can i find big tunnels and things for the dogs to do outside cheap??
do many people leave there dogs overnite or just for the day care??
do you think its wrong, you can only drop your pet off at 7am and then have him picked up by 7pm and between 12-2 most places will not let you pick up your pet??
im trying to think of a name any ideas?? then ill have a poll for the best one, i can only have a sign as big as 2sq feet thats it.
let me know and any extra info is great thanks

I took my 7mth old; 3lb chihuahua "Mia" to my sons soccer game last Sunday. We were outside from 8:30am to about 12:30pm. Mia is not used of being outside for a long period of time. When I looked down at her, she had little white spots on her head. I picked her up to take a closer look and the spots started turning into blisters and growing. I went into the shade with her and she returned to normal. Now, I have a skin disease and have to protect myself from the sun, could it be true that a chi takes whatever illness that their owner has?

My wife and I adopted a dog in june of 06 he was a year old...he was such a good dog, we walked him all the time played with him and all that good stuff. in the past 3 months he has been growling at me when i call him or when he is in the bed room or on the couch he shows his teeth and barks at me like he wants to bite me. a few days ago when my wife walked near me he ran and jumped and bit me. I don't know whats going on with him and its bothering me cause he was such a good dog. What causes a dog to be so aggressive? It's gettin to the point to where we are thinkin about giving him up :( is there anything that can be done?

I read, often, that "my dog is sick, what do I do?"
"Can I give my dog chocolate?"
"My dog has diarhea, what should I do?"
"How do I potty train my dog?"

These are basic questions that every dog owner shoud know. If you think your dog is sick, don't wait, take them to the vet. Don't wait for people here to tell you to go to the vet.

Geez. If you own a dog, get some basic knowledge.

My lab is 8 months and he's very active. The vet said he had very good muscle mass. I want to get him in shape but not with agility competions or stuff like that. Although he's active he tends to tire out quickly.

I've had her about 2 weeks now. She is one yr old. She loves to play outside, but when she does, it really makes her stink. But since she is an indoor dog, I cant have my house smelling bad. Is it ok to bathe once a week?

He's a small silky terrier, 10lbs, 8yrs old. It's been two days now that he's been really grumpy. He's eating, using the washroom, but not very active. He doesn't want to be around anyone, he whines when we try to carry or even pet him. Especially when we touch him around the stomach area. I think he might have ate something we didn't see and he's having trouble digesting it. He has a habit of swallowing food instead of chewing. He also tends to shiver when he stands still. It's not cold- kinda looks like he's trying to not put to much weight down. I dont know =/ What could be wrong with him? I'm going to wait two more days before taking him to the vet, this has happened to him before and he turned out fine.. I'm just worried!

I have a 12 1/2 year old lab/mastiff mix that has lost a lot of weight over the last couple of years. I am trying to get him fattened back up again, but so far haven't had any luck. I leave him with a full bowl of food every day, but he just isn't into in much. He'll eat when he's hungy but won't eat much. His teeth aren't bad, so that's not the issue.
I can't afford expensive dog food or vitamin supplements but need something to help him gain some weight. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you in advance for your help.

It's on a copper-colored chain with a little noise maker on it that makes a little noise that drives dogs crazy. You can shake it or drop it beside the dog and it will train the dog in a very short period of time.

My husband and I are likely moving to Argentina in the next few months. We have a Staffie, and have checked with customs regarding the health certificates, possible quarantines (there are none) to get her into and out of the country. What I am wondering now, however, is if there are any laws about Staffie ownership in Argentina - all the customs/immigration research I have done has been just for a dog in general. I can't find anything about this particular breed. Anyone out there have any idea?

You just bought the dog so he isn't trained yet. Will the dog jump or is the dog smart enough to know he should not jump because it will hurt without you having to train him/her.

My German Shepard is 15 years old, almost 16. She has hung on for as long as she can. I won't go into details of her medical condition, but you probably have an idea. Painful arthritis, blader problems, almost blind etc.

My question is how to do it. I read an article from a pet site that promotes the best way is for the owner to do it themselves. At first I thought this was barberic until I read on. Their feeling is that at the vet, it is a cold, nervous environment for the dog and horible last memory for the dog. They suggest taking the dog out into a field where it can feel free and placing a bowl down with its favorite snack and the shooting the dog in the head as it eats. I really don't think I could do this, but do agree, the vet is no fun place for a dog, especially its last memory.

They also suggest using a favorite meal with sleeping pills, followed by carbon monoxide. This does not sound safe to me.

I just want the most comfortable, not convienent way for my dog.

The pup we're going to get had very affectionate parents. The mother wasn't aggressive or uneasy when we played with the pups. The father was very happy and was acting like a big baby. The breeder also had two bluenose pits and they were all getting along great. Do you think the puppy will be as friendly and social as they are?
