My lab is 8 months and he's very active. The vet said he had very good muscle mass. I want to get him in shape but not with agility competions or stuff like that. Although he's active he tends to tire out quickly.

an 8 month old puppy will tire out quickly, but with longer and longer daily walks, that will change.

Also games like frizbee, and fetch the tennis ball are great too.

My lab mix loves when I throw her a tennis ball. I am also trying to teach her to Frisbee.
I would also suggest reading the back of the dog food you are feeding him and follow the DAILY serving suggestions. My lab mix requires 3 1/4 cups of Iams puppy for PER DAY. I divide it into two feedings and she is growing up to be a very healthy dog.

Start walking him daily at a steady pace so he doesn't tire out so quick.. each day go a little longer than the last day. it may take a while and a lot of work but it'll add years to his life!

Walks. Lots of walks. Long walks.
Play catch/fetch frequently.

Labs are not endurance dogs, in my opinion. I have a lab and experience with labs. They are good for long walks, but not good for long runs.

Labs also get fat real quick and easy, so if you want your lab to have a long healthy life, dont fail with those long walks!

Take him running with you 3-4 miles 4 days a week.

Sounds like he needs more endurance training. Try going jogging or biking with him. Also, swimming is great. Just make sure that you're going slow and steady. That's the key to building endurance.

Long daily walks. Daily ball tossing or Frisbee throwing will work and be fun for both of you!
