I read a question in pets from a sincere man, asking a question he truly needed the answer to. Sky_nightly18blackey.
Because of his phrasing and spelling and perhaps his bluntness, I was both offended and upset by what I thought was the intent of his question. I flagged him.
Then I learned that his question was the last of three in a row where most, not all, people jumped on him, just as I did.
So I dug into his profile and found him to be honest and simply spoken, a man I believe knows more about his field than I ever will.
I reread his questions with a new understanding of who he might really be and was mortified by my and other answers, and by my rude and hasty behaviour.
I deleted my last answer to him and apologized, then offered a sincere if inadequate answer to his question.
He mentioned that he always gets rude answers and that is why he doesn't come on very often, only when he really has a problem. To face this abuse, he must really care.
Now what?
