I have a 2 year old black mouth cur and am wondering what other BMCs are like in a family setting. He came from a hunting line and I feel bad that he is not able to do what comes naturally to him. He's brought me a couple of squirrels but I reprimanded him for it. He is a sweet and gentle dog. He loves the kids and doesn't have a possesive bone in his body. My only problem is when he is on leash, he does not get along with other dogs. He is fine off leash, but I worry that he might maul a little poodle or something. Any advise would be great!

I have had my dog for about 8 years now, and I have to children aged 3 and 5.. Lately my dog has been getting aggressive towards them, he trys to attack them when they are outside. They have to run really fast to get to their playset, usually have to distract the dog somehow before running for it.

You always have to be on your toes when your outside, he can come from anywhere, and often does. How can I stop him from doing this? I dont want to kill him, but I will if I have to

Why do some people not agree with breeding a dog. If everyone disagreed with that and not bred any dogs then there wouldnt be any left in the world. right? And what if it is a VERY responcible breeder? If the breeder has all there dogs inside the house and doesnt sell to stores puppy mills or kenels and only sells to people who know what they are doing or for just a pet?!

I have a 9 month old pomeranian male who loves to chew my clothes only when I'm not home. I usually keep him in his crate but when my husband is home and I'm not and he lets him out and not watching the dog, the pom is chewing on my PJs...just now I left for a minute to go to the corner store to get milk. I put my PJ up high on the hamper so he can't get it, well he got to it cuz when I got home, he was chewing away...UGH....why is it just my clothes when I'm not home??? I know it's not cuz I'm his favorite. My husband is his favorite person...what gives? Maybe he don't like me.

I read a question in pets from a sincere man, asking a question he truly needed the answer to. Sky_nightly18blackey.

Because of his phrasing and spelling and perhaps his bluntness, I was both offended and upset by what I thought was the intent of his question. I flagged him.

Then I learned that his question was the last of three in a row where most, not all, people jumped on him, just as I did.

So I dug into his profile and found him to be honest and simply spoken, a man I believe knows more about his field than I ever will.

I reread his questions with a new understanding of who he might really be and was mortified by my and other answers, and by my rude and hasty behaviour.

I deleted my last answer to him and apologized, then offered a sincere if inadequate answer to his question.

He mentioned that he always gets rude answers and that is why he doesn't come on very often, only when he really has a problem. To face this abuse, he must really care.

Now what?

Our dog has many health problems. Together with our vet we developed a specially mad training treat to give him, when he needs direction or just a treet.

Since we make these treats ourselves each month, it would be so easy to make them for others (just make extras). As owners of sick dogs, would you be willing to by these treats, if we made them to sell?

We have a Yor-chi, he was 9 weeks when we got him. He is the sweetest pup you would ever see. He is now 4 1/2 years old. Now all of a sudden he is targeting my daughter for severe aggression. He attacks for no reason that I can see. He has also attacked my mother and I.

He seems to zone out, his eyes glaze over like he does not even recognize us. Then when he snaps out of it he acts like he does not know why we are upset with him. He does not remember what he did.

Please help us with this problem.

We have a long haired female chi (3 1/2 years old) that is his mate. She seems to know when this is going to happen and hides.

Some people said we need to have him put down before he hurts someone. He has broken skin before MINE ha ha, but we love him and he is so sweet most of the time.

Don't know what to do!!!

We thinking of getting our puppy chihuahua chipped as it is reasonably inexpensive. But I dont want to subject him to too much pain/discomfort if not completely necessary.
Does it hurt the animal when it gets inserted (and how long does it hurt them?) and are they prone to any problems later down the track when it is under their skin?

My female Pomeranian dog is Usually hyper and barking. Whenever my little brother runs down the hallway, she would bark like nothing else. Today, ive noticed that shes VERY calm...too calm, and shes also shivering like theres no tomorrow when I pick her up. I asked my little brother to run down the hallway, you know, for a test run, and she didnt even WALK behind him. she just layed down and went to sleep. She usually likes to play with our cat, but she wont even look at her. She is one and a half years old. I'm worried because we havent been getting her heart medicine like the vet suggested. Could this be Depression? Heart Related? I really want to know what my Poor little dog is going through. Shes Spayed, so its not heat, But I wish I knew What was wrong!
